Looking forward to getting my hands on the handsome collection tomorrow.
I have not played the pre-sequel yet so at least it will be some fresh content even if it is not up to BL2 levels.

I already have my BL2 cross-saves uploaded from the PS3 - a couple of level 61 characters and a couple of level 50 characters. So I'l be looking forward to bringing them up to 72 and then tackling the OP levels.

For those not familiar with Borderlands co-op play - the game scales to the level of the highest player. I found in the past that it was best when all players were the same level and were leveling up at a similar pace.

As for BL2 character selection - Axton is fine as a first go, but as you go up the levels he becomes a little ineffective. Really looking forward to playing these on the PS4.

That's where I made my big error. In anticipation for The Handsome Collection, I traded in BL2 and BL:TPS (needed the money too). Didn't realise I'd need the disks for both in order to transfer my saves over to PS4. Whoops :(

Yeah I got Axton up to Lvl50 and he was alright. Pretty powerful if used right. But then I switched to Sal and never looked back. Gunzerking is f*cking amazing. Two Double Penetrating Unkempt Harold pistols destroy everything. EVERYTHING!

Going to give the krieg or whatever his name is a go first as I've the others all leveled to at least 50.

Think my main was up to the older limit.

Some game, firsts time on second play through we went after the end boss about 8 levels too early. Stubbornness meant we didn't quit and try later but instead spent 3+ hours fighting him. Went back later and easily soloed him.

Yup, this is why I ended up with like 4 characters around the teens/mid 20s last time cause I'd be playing with different groups of friends

I played as Zero before and didn't like him initially but some of the other guys were saying he becomes insane good later in his skill tree

Surely someone would let you borrow the discs just for the purposes of levelling up?

Bl2 was on PS plus any chance you had it from that.

If you're really stuck you could change you psn password to a temp on and get someone on boards to do it for you by giving them the account details and sending them the save files.

Ah, makes no odds really. Was going to start new characters for both games anyway (will try Krieg for BL2 and Jack for TPS). Just means when I do get them levelled up I'll not be able to swap over legendary/seraph weapons between characters. If I did still have my Sal save from BL2 chances are I wouldn't have bothered playing through the game again. At least this forces me out of my comfort zone.

Is Badass Rank recorded across all your characters or what? (dumb question i know but it's been like 2 years)

Yup. The Badass Ranks are linked to you as the player rather than your character, so they apply to all characters.

Being reported that there are serious issues with FPS in especially in split screen and in open areas of TPS :(

Another major one for me is many are reporting BAR not transferring with last gen saves which is a major concern for me, mine was 100k in BL2 when I checked my toons earlier in the week.

And a 13gb day one patch fixes none of these , 10 gb for the TPS DLC and a 3gb for BL2.

The Pre-sequel looks fantastic on PS4. The only issue I have so far is the loot info popups are really bright for some reason, to the point where some text colours are harder to read. Happening to anyone else?

Haven't played that one yet but it's similar in BL2 on Xbox One. More more noticeable on blue an higher rated loot. How are you finding the screen tearing? For me it seems to be more noticeable in Sanctuary.

Only been playing TPS so far, but haven't really noticed any yet.

I'm picking up the Handsome collection tomorrow. Should I start off with TPS or BL2 ? Also what's the best class for a beginner to pick first of all ?

Start with BL2 for sure. It's the best, and was also released first.

As for which class to start with, there's no real right answer. Axton (Commando) is probably the best all rounder. That being said, I favour Sal (Gunzerker). A lot of fun to play as and can become a walking tank and destroy everything. Maybe check out some videos of each class and see what takes your fancy.

I went with Zero in BL2 because I like sniper rifles and going invisible and stabbing people. And went with Athena in the Pre-Sequel.

Cool thanks lads. Was leaning towards the Commando guy but I'll have a better look later on.
May put a few hours in Friday seen as I'm off :)

Commando is a great all rounder, and was the first one I took to Lvl50. But because he's an all-rounder, he doesn't really specialise in either offense or defense. Can make things more difficult much later in the game at Lvl50 and above.

Pick whichever one the 3 other lads on X-Box One who are sick of Destiny are not using. That way everyone still gets their Co-Op shooter Fix :)

Ha fair point. I haven't even been tempted to turn on Destiny since I stopped. I'll only be back for House of Wolves.

5, the collection comes with the dlc.

Went zero and athena, zero is great up to level 50 but gets hard after that and you really need good gear. The melee doesn't really work well and then around 55 everything you've got from lvl 50 is useless (lvl 50 bee is pointless).

    Try gaige

The joy I felt when I got a Lvl61 Bee for my Gunzerker... DPUH in each hand, Bee Shield (with decent recharge and damage)... Everything dies almost instantly :D

Got Athena to around Lvl35 or so too on PS3. She's pretty great to play as too. Absorbing all front damage is the business. Playing as Jack at the minute though. Dopplegangers are pretty lethal. Almost have the skill tree filled to get the Badass DigiJacks too.

Did you quote the right post dude cause I'm not sure what the 2 points have got to do with each other

Back when I played BL2 though I tried The Psycho, Assassin and mainly used the Gunzerker to finish the campaign

  • Registered Users Posts: 28,097 ✭✭✭✭TitianGerm

Went with GunZerker after. Not sure if I like it though. Got to level 15 after joining one of the guys on my friends list who was doing some high level stuff with Witchdoctors in it.
Is there an actual Thread for The Handsome Collection as I'm completely lost :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 798 ✭✭✭nocal

There is a fairly good Borderlands 2 thread here. There is a fair bit of info in it.

If you want extensive information about Borderlands 2, try http://oldforums.gearboxsoftware.com/forumdisplay.php?f=139

There you will find everything you ever wanted to know and more besides.

The commando is handy because you don't need to actively do anything to utilise his special - just hit a button and the turret kills stuff.

Anyone bother with shift codes for this?

If so the one below gives you 25 keys.
    555JT-6TTX5-SFBKT-HTW33-T3F3T - ps3 and ps4
    KKWBJ-6B5FJ-3JJBT-JBBJB-WWH6X - pc
    555JT-6TTT9-KCFJX-CXT33-T3FBC - xbox 360 and 1

Used it about a week ago and it worked fine.

    Can get them from here
