    Hi all,

I recently moved to Ireland as a Non-EEA citizen. I don't have a private insurance yet, but i need to see a doctor and it is ok for me to pay it.

Today, I randomly called a GP close to my house (in Tuam) and the assistant said they will call me back. One hour later, I got a message that they can not accept me but i can try other GPs around. Why and how can a GP not accept a patient? I really don't understand.

Some gp's won't take on new patients as they would be full. I recently moved and had to change gp's the first I rang were'nt taking on any new patient's.
