Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

New 4 part series on coffee in the UK starting tonight at 9 pm on BBC 2
    Episode 1 of 4
    DURATION: 1 HOUR
Since the coffee shop brands took off in the 1990s people have embraced their caffeinated delights. Once a nation of tea drinkers, people have fallen for the super-sized cups, adopted the language of lattes and are even prepared to pay upwards of £2.20 for a caffeine hit. Not even the recession quenched our desire for coffee and now millions are hooked, spending up to £2,000 a year and pouring cash into the coffers of the coffee shop brands.

This sets out to discover how the nation became so obsessed, and how the brands do battle for our custom. With behind-the-scenes access to staff on the frontline and the bosses of the big brands, this is the inside story of the coffee shop world.

First in a four-part series on businesses that have boomed despite tough economic times. 

Was happy to see that little town managed to stop Costa from opening! I hope they'll feature some decent independent places in one of the episodes.

Good show, but wish the'd discuss the quality of the beans to be found in the big chains against what's available in independent coffee shops.

Also too much time given to the marketing men. The guy trying to justify not putting the cheaper size on the menu was ridiculous as was the justification for not paying their tax bill.

Did anyone see the rest of these? I set it to series link but it only recorded that first one.

Likewise, only watched the first. Am not 100% sure the rest were focusing on coffee or just parts of the economy bucking the trend and growing during the economic downturn.
Think I set it to record all episodes, must check the recordings.

You are actually correct, only the first focused on coffee.

Disappointing it wasn't all on coffee but they probably ran out of crappy video footage of Starbucks and Costa shops.
