Don't mean to hijack this threads but thought it was the most suitable spot...

I'm in LA on 4th October (arriving early afternoon) and would love to get to preferably the USC or secondly UCLA game. I guess due to TV schedule and how the teams do over the next two weekend dictates kickoff times? Any idea when I could know what times these kickoffs are at by looking at their schedule now? With USC's and UCLA's records would these games sell out?

Many thanks for your future replies!

Demand is pretty big for USC games but you should be able to pick up a ticket on the day by asking around while tailgating on campus and becoming friends with some locals ;) . Went a couple years back. Great experience and a great stadium to watch the game.

its gettin to dropping in the draft terratory now

Stupid is right. Suspended for just a half is a bit strange/ lenient though. I guess they need him for such a key game

Thanks for the info, was at a Clemson game two years ago. Got some strange looks when our tailgating "equipment" consisted of a foam drinks cooler, a disposable BBQ and a six pack of crisps!

Auburn vs Kansas State should be good tonight

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,719 ✭✭✭JaMarcusHustle

Winston suspended for the entire game now.

There are also some unfounded and muted rumours going around that Florida State are finished with him for good. I'll believe it when I see it however.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,966 ✭✭✭Syferus

Snyder complaining about Auburn stealing signals. Jesus man. If you're worried about the other team being able to tell your plays just by watching you, maybe make them a bit more complex to begin with rather than having to switch mid-stream, eh?

The Tigers ground the win out after being held in check on the ground. Never easy to go to K-State and win anyways. Solid start to the season but the big tests (and plenty of them) still await.

What are the best games to watch today/tonight lads? I guess Florida State/Clemson might be interesting with no Winston.

Clemson at FSU should be very good. FSU will not want to show any weakness to their big conference rival.
Florida at Alabama will be interesting. How good is Florida s defence? And if Bama win well will Musgrave be on the hot seat?

North Carolina @ East Carolina is my game of the day.

Will also be keeping an eye on whether Connor Holliday comes anywhere near his 89 pass attempts against Oregon last year when he faces them tonight.

Michigan State points at half time: 49
Eastern Michigan points at half time: 0

Michigan State yards at half time: 320
Eastern Michigan yards at half time: 1

Virginia Tech-Georgia Tech has been a decent game on ESPN. Georgia Tech just blocked a FG to keep it 16-10 and within one score.

EDIT: GT just had a TD brought back for a block below the waist! Starting at their own 30 instead!

Sat down to watch the SMU and A&M game. Texas doing some really dumb stuff on offense. An INT and umpteen penalties for holding and another for delay of game and we're not even 10 mins in.

Edit: that said, SMU don't look physically capable of getting a first down.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,718 ✭✭✭polaris68

Bama 7 - 0 up on Florida but the Gators recovered a fumble on the bama 30. Good chance for them here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,718 ✭✭✭polaris68

    And they take it! 7 - 7.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,718 ✭✭✭polaris68

Another Alabama turnover! Looks like another Florida TD. Confirmed 14 - 7.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,369 ✭✭✭UnitedIrishman

SMU total offensive yards today -8.. that's a minus.

Think it's time to change to the Bama game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,718 ✭✭✭polaris68

Third Alabama fumble off a bad hand off from Sims!

Well Florida put up the good fight for the first half of the game but the Tide have turned it on now and cut out the mistakes. Pretty impressive showing.

Cooper can break the 'Bama single game receiving yardage in this game, Julio Jones currently holds it.

The Jameis circus continues. Got fully dressed, pads and all, for the game tonight despite being suspended. Fisher sent him back to the locker room to change. The look on his face is priceless.

Not just saying it as a joke, but he's actually so, so clueless.

And people thought Manziel was his own worst enemy.

Would be some laugh to see Maguire shoot the lights out tonight.

Winston is a special case, he could destroy himself before getting anywhere near the pro's

The more you see the coaches facial reaction the funnier it gets!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,028 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

LSU could pull this out of the fire, lunacy from Miss. State, right from when they went for it on fourth down deep in LSU territory when a field goal would have pretty much made sure of it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,028 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Mississippi State hang on with an interception of the Hail Mary on their goal line. Unreal end to the game, LSU won't be making the playoffs I'd imagine.

Jameis is one of the best QBs in college football today. But he's also an idiot.

    Sincerely,

    An FSU alumni

P.S. We defeated Clemson 23-17 in OT.

So, Old Dominion have been promoting this weekend's game against Middle Tennessee as their "White Out" game to mark their first ever Friday Night game. All the fans are encouraged to wear white, bring white towels, white accessories - white everything. Similar to what Penn State do below.

    penn-state-whiteout.jpg

The only problem is that NCAA Rules require the home team to wear dark colours, unless the away team agree to wear them instead. And Middle Tennessee have refused ODU's request to wear dark colours. So ODU will have to wear their blue jerseys to their own White Out night. Middle Tennessee will be in white :pac:

I'm on night duty with the baby so still up!:)

Anyways was keeping an eye on the Texas Tech v OK State game in the Cowboys won it by ten points.

Watching UCLA Bruins now, they have a 10 lead, fair turnaround after falling behind early. Looks like they will be moving up the rankings this week if they keep it up. Hundley made a ridic run at one stage where he hurdled a player. Its no wonder the guy gets injured.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,028 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

UCLA went up 35-17 at the start of the second half. The Arisona State secondary looks weak.

Bruins kept the Sun Devils to a field goal with goal to go. Hundley now back on the field. I've a feeling this one will get out of hand in favour of the Bruins now.

Well Hundley didn't even make it to the field. Ishmael Adams scores from the kickoff, he scored on a punt return at the end of the first half too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,028 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

You can't take a breath here, ASU turn it over and the Bruins are now up 48-20. Its got completely out of hand as predicted.

Spent a year studying at University of Cincinnati a few years back. Absolutely sick with excitement ahead of the game against Ohio State. No team has been fcuked over more in the conference re-alignment shuffle that Cincy. It would mean a hell of a lot for all Bearcat fans to beat OSU

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,719 ✭✭✭JaMarcusHustle

Fantastic finish to Colorado State @ Boston College. 4th and 11 with a minute left and Colorado State get the go ahead score. Boston College now have 2 timeouts left to try and get a field goal to tie it up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,718 ✭✭✭polaris68

NC State 14 - 7 up on FSU. They appear to be moving the ball with ease against the 'noles defense so this might be a close one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,718 ✭✭✭polaris68

Winston fumbles & recovered by NC state!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,718 ✭✭✭polaris68

What a play by the NC State QB Jacoby Brissett! Up 24 - 7....we have an upset watch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,175 ✭✭✭BKWDR

Is that Manziel on the Texas A&M sideline?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,718 ✭✭✭polaris68

Great drive by Brissett for a NC State TD of a turnover. 31 - 21 to NC State.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,718 ✭✭✭polaris68

Horrible punt drop by Rasheed Greene - another turnover! And NC State capitalise, 38 - 28.

Aggies tied it up. Unreal comeback, they looked like they had no hope halfway through the fourth quarter.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,256 ✭✭✭metaoblivia

FSU pulls out the win over NC State, 56-41 after a rough start. Good game, but FSU needs to step up that defense!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,028 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Syracuse and the Irish at 0-0 after the first quarter. Serious D on show. Irish have a good drive going at the moment, hopefully they can score on this one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,028 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Fuller takes it to the house, TD Notre Dame. Go Irish!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,028 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Golson to Fuller again!!!! this time for 72 yards and the td. 14-0, Go Irish!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,028 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Oh no, no, no, Golson down.:( He has walked off himself, hopefully its not too bad and he can come back in.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,028 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Just read it's the first time they've conceded over 40 since 2010.

I think the NCS quarterback is the real deal. He's been doing that all year but no one gave him much credit because it was against poor teams. There was no let down today despite it being Florida State. I was impressed, he looked great.
