I really enjoy the football manager games, just wondering what kind of spec I would need in a laptop to play it normally at a good speed. Im not interested in "gamer laptops", but what kind of spec would I need for your everyday laptop

    There's a laptops forum.
    Get a mid range card.

    This might suit you. http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/notebooks/cosmosII/

Thanks for the reply, nobody seems to go on the laptop forum though. Thanks for the link.

My brother plays Football Manager and has a laptop that has an Intel Integrated Hd Graphics Card (4000 series I think) which is standard for alot of laptops, even lower end ones. I wouldn't say you'd have to spend all that much on a laptop if you want it to primarily run Football Manager.

The one that Monotype posted is a good one and at least it has a dedicated graphics card (I think the 740M should run even Skyrim at a decent setting on high detail) if you wanted to try other games.

I agree, I have a new laptop with the newer Intel 4600 and I can play all the older games fine and was playing the last Batman game on mid level settings.
I find it handy to just play smaller games while on the bed than having to go to my main gaming pc

Football Manager would run on virtually anything. A GT740M would be way overkill.

Something like this would be more than enough.

Is it the only game you play and can see yourself playing ?
Do you think in the future you might wanna try out some other newer games ?...take that into consideration before ye buy,

The big thing with football manager is cpu and ram. The more powerful your laptop/pc the more leagues you can have running at the same time without it crawling as you go through the season. Graphics are not the main concern here. If you simply want to play FM with just one league running and everything else in the background as it's referred to then as has been said pretty much any laptop will do. If you want to have several countries' leagues running in the "foreground" (i.e. if you want to be able to manage in any of those leagues, change jobs and so on) then you'll need a good cpu and plenty of ram.

It's not going to be much use for anything else but it should do the job on Football Manager sims. Haven't played any of them in a few years but unless they've changed greatly, they're basically just all menus, no 3D models or anything that graphics cards tend to do.
