Hello Im going to be moving to Las Vegas from Cork In September. Im hoping to move my Record vinyl collection in one go, I have 500 Albums so there very heavy, it will cost me a bomb to send it to the post office or Fed X. I was wondering if anyone knew of a courier company or freight service that would do it for less??? Thanks.

We moved the contents of our house but it was many years ago. How much space do they take up? 500 Albums sounds large enough that moving companies would probably know the best options. There's probably specialist shippers in Dublin certainly, maybe in Cork, for antiques, stuff like that.

It took around two months to the west coast and as we were moving to San Fransisco it was pretty simple because we just went to the port and picked it up, for Las Vegas you could have them shipped to LA and drive there to pick them up.

We relocated recently and although all the organisation of moving etc was done through work, I would recommend the team of guys who packed up our stuff at the Dublin end - IrishRelo (irishrelo.com). Very professional. No idea what they charge though.

One very important thing to remember - it's HOT in Las Vegas.

Make sure that the shipping company knows how to handle your collection, and that it must be cooled in transit. If you ship with someone who just puts your LPs in a regular container, you're not going to be happy with the pile of warped and/or melted plastic that arrives in Vegas.

As someone who relocated using a 20ft shipping container that was un-climate controlled, shipping these is a very expensive process. We had art to ship, and end-to-end climate controlled was expensive. We had climate control once unloaded in TX, but we shipped in winter.

Are you a DJ? because that is the only reason I could see this will be worthwhile.

We used Interdean interdean.com and found them to be very good (only issue was they underestimated the container size by precisely one armchair)
