Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Campbell could work extremely well bouncing 1-2s off Giroud or Ozil

The Liverpool echo reporting Sanchez favours a move to us over everyone.

On phone so can't link. The link is in the Liverpool thread

Would we rather khedira or schneiderlin?

Would we rather khedira or schneiderlin?

Khedira for me, proven player at the top level.

Probably Schneiderlin because he seems a better fit.. But with the way Southampton are doing business he'll cost loads!

Khedira would be a great signing all the same.

You'd have to wonder just how good this many of the Southampton players are..Lallana/Lambert/Rodriguez/Shaw/Lovren/Schneiderlin/Chambers/Clyne all being linked to top 4 sides, they came 8th. Their players definitely weren't as scrutinised as players from the top sides so I have my doubts. Can't see I've specifically watched Schneiderlin before but their midfield did a number on ours (Arteta/Flamini axis mind) in the away fixture last season.

You'd defo wonder about the one's left.

Southampton seem to have announced that everyone is for sale. If players like Schneiderlin, Clyne and Rodriguez are still there and no-ones interested, then there's surely a reason.

I'm a big believer in trusting the football community and their judgement on a player. I think that naturally we tend to overrate our own players and anyone linked with us.

For example - there's no outcry in France that Kos, Giroud or Sagna aren't starting (though in Sagna's case, that's a positive cause Debuchy is). Remy didn't end up at QPR and Newcastle by chance and so on.

Schneiderlin has one year left on his contract though. We'll probably still get rinsed but not to a Lallana or Shaw extent.

The touted figure so far has been 20m, same as what they want from Liverpool for Lovren.

Khedira's the one with 1yr left.

Absolutely not, back off now. He's not that good.

That's genuinely wrong with regards to Koscielny though imo. Especially seeing as it's sakho replacing him

Then we must get him because that will lower his transfer fee. He's a big lad, too, and we desperately need height in our midfield.

OK now that I'm getting confidant in Sanchez, I want Vidal too.

Surely if Wenger truly believes in the double pivot, then Vidal and Rambo would be perfect.

    We can afford him too.

So any deal for Aurier looks to be dead then?

    Dunn absolutely despises us

I'd say that article is written with weeks and when he seen deals might be taking place he had to rush to publish it

I'd say it was written in 5 mins.

The research was googling what teams have spent in WC years.

You'd have to wonder what gets him a job? I mean how is that journalism? Surely it's just pot luck he has employment, no? I mean anyone can write that stuff.

Pool, Chelsea and United have spent loads while Wenger has just been enjoying himself on the beach.

True, it's just because it provokes reaction and people post it everywhere, people click on it and money is made on advertisements. Job done.

Which funnily enough was a point being argued by actual Arsenal fans in here last week.

Its time for our daily Sanchez update! :pac:

    Gustavo Cima -
"CONFIRMED: Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez is new player of Arsenal. Arrives from FC Barcelona. #PremierLeague #LigaBBVA"

    Kike Marin -
Arsenal have made an offer to Barca for Sanchez. Barca now need to sell to close Suarez deal

    EL PAIS -
Alexis is close and that both parties have a pre-agreement (Paraphrased)

Most of those sources are fairly reliable.
    Things are looking good.

Meh... some guys supposedly reliable guys were saying that last week. Nothing new there.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,333 ✭✭✭bad2dabone

My Barcelona friend says it's done too. He told me to expect an announcement tomorrow. I'm still not getting my hopes up, but the dial has been turned one notch

We already have our own Vidal in Ramsey, would much rather a natural defensive midfielder, pity we couldnt clone Gilberto Silva :)

Interesting quote by ex-German and Real Madrid legend Paul Breitner on Ozil and his performances at the WC

    http://www.thesportreview.com/tsr/2014/07/ex-germany-star-urges-joachim-low-to-drop-mesut-ozil/
If Joachim Löw is brave and says that he doesn’t want to play with just ten players, he will leave Mesut Özil out of the next match,” “Nine players go out there and give everything for 90 minutes and one other does nothing but walk around on the pitch."

You think this is very harsh or somewhat justified?
