Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Seen this on twitter

Anyone could see that during the tournament IF they weren't too busy trying to find fault. I put a lot of it down to jealousy.

Nice posts, and I can't fault much of what you or Gosplan have said. Though I'll disagree with the latter given the number of Gooners here and elsewhere wanting Liverpool to fail immensely during the run in last season to either City or Chelsea. There was one or two Arsenal fans here who posted they rather Spurs win the league or Spurs beat us (Liverpool) when we had to play them too.

Here's the thing, I actually preferred Liverpool to win the league over Chelsea because of Jose's comments about Wenger, but then I remembered seeing Liverpool fans on here and Facebook celebrating winning the league at Christmas. Then when yous beat us 5 - 1, the Liverpool fans got worse. Then and there, I started leaning towards Chelsea but Man City were always my first choice.

I really wanted Liverpool to do it, actually. I've huge respect for Rodgers. The fact that big-spending City won in the end just felt a bit unearned, even though it obviously wasn't.

Well city's success is, in a way, unearned. I've huge respect for Liverpool, the club and it's fans. Every club has some knobs following them.

As with every season Spurs were my last choice of teams to win the league.

Usually my second-last choice is Utd. (or one of the big money teams). I hated Chelsea and City for a while but realised they don't matter as Dagenham and Redbridge could be equally successful with that money so their victories are meaningless.

I was always indifferent to Liverpool, yes we always have 1989 no matter what they do. But last season, their fans (both on her and elsewhere), their media fanboys and pundits, as well as some of the comments from the likes of Gerrard turned me completely against the club and now, while I still want Spurs to fail most of all, Liverpool are not far behind.

    Absolutely.

I've been an Arsenal fan during many Premiership run ins. In fact, I've probably had more time for Arsenal than any other club in the league.

(Just don't tell anyone I said that, theres a guy in the Liverpool thread who will do terrible things to my cat if he finds out.)

Settling down for the match here and as much as i'd love to Messi shut up all his doubters at International level I just cannot look past seeing our three lads picking up the World Cup and hopefully a masterclass by Ozil

and so Wenger can sneak into the celebration party and have a few drinks with Sami ;)

Ozil looks the most composed for Germany attacking wise. Great to see.

One of the one twos he has been trying to do will come off second half I say. Klose isn't playing great for his link up play for the midfield runners so far.

This is the real Ozil, playing with a swagger and confidence every time he's on the ball. Set up Kroos beautifully there towards the end
Like all the best players seems to create loads of time on the ball for himself in tight spaces

Reminds me a bit of myself when I was playing :D

WTF RTE Giles, Brady and Dunphy Ozil should be taken off has being giving the ball away.

Do they even watch the games.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,756 ✭✭✭emergingstar

RTE panel saying ozil is giving the ball away he should come off

What game do they be watching at all

obviously not, they have the tape playing on repeat. . .

He has created at least two clear cut chances for the Germans to score. RTE talk a load of sh*te.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,828 ✭✭✭gosplan

I thought the same myself. Then I carefully watched that 1st half of extra time. Ozil was fine, Schurrle and especially Lahm constantly giving up possession.

    Congrats, lads.

Can we count this as a trophy?

1 FA Cup and 1 World Cup in 9 years :pac:

The boys will come back very confident after that. Super stuff for them.

Özil. 14km run tonight. Most chances created of any player at the tournament. But yeah, stealing a living.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,174 ✭✭✭Irish Aris

That assist that Özil gave to Kroos but he missed. . .I am thinking Walcott, Sanchez and Co. They/We will have a party even against park buses!

It was his best game of the tournament by far.

Was France 98 the last time we had this many Gooners lifting it? Bodes well.:D

Ozil had a great game tonight. The sooner RTE put those dinosaurs out to pasture the better. I refuse to watch that station with the so called pundits and commentators that they employ.

Khedira must feel like the cup champ this year. World Cup, European Cup and Spanish Cup.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,940 ✭✭✭omega man

Really believe Ozil had a very good game even with my arsenal bias. Hopefully that will shut his newly found doubters up.

Anyone get a screen shot of Ozil and mert after full time??

I'd love to know how Turtyturd doesn't get banned.

And I'm sure I'll be banned for just posting that.

Also was watching on ESPN and Steve McManaman of all people singled Ozil out for praise, if only his team mates could finish.

Platini asking Ozil for his shirt. I think this says more than the opinions of the football "experts" on here and RTE.
