Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Morgan admitted himself the second tweet was just a wind up. He's a clown though. A lot of Arsenal fans still haven't forgiven him for that article about the UEFA cup final in Copenhagen.

From what I have seen over these 2 games I dont think I would be too upset not to get Costa. Missed chances, snatched at shots, very selfish and a bit moody.

(If he scores a hat trick now I will be delighted though)

I just don't know if I like Costa. I'd rather some Starbucks

In fairness he is up against Chelsea.

David Luiz in midfield....thats your problem right there. Never looked like he had a clue what he was doing, hollywood fancy passes that ended up 99% to the opposition. Most overrated player they have....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,500 ✭✭✭Fuzzy_Dunlop

Don't know how well in the know he is, but just saw Arseblog on twitter saying we have a big interest in Griezemann. I'd be happy with him and Drmic if no big strikers are available.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,156 ✭✭✭DubDani

According to several reasonably reliable resources in Germany Drmic has already signed for Bayer Leverkusen in the last few days (with an agreed fee of around 6-7 mil. Euro), and the deal will be made public as soon as Nuernberg season is over (either confirmed as relegated, or otherwise after relegation games).

Have to say missing out on Cahill was a huge mistake...lad is a very good consistent player that would be ideal in the heart of the gunners defence.

Missed out yes but not a huge loss imo. It's debatable whether or not he would make our starting line up.

Boys if Bergkamp goes to spurs as assistant, will his whole legacy be destroyed? always loved his loyalty and thats why i preferred him to Henry, would be gutting to see.

I'll be sad if he takes the role but I won't blame him. Arsenal have no hold over him and he has to do what he has to do with his career. Hopefully they'll go to Monaco instead

Bergkamp is my all time favorite player. I'd be absolutely gutted if he went to spurs, but i wouldn't hate him.

But I reckon he wouldn't do it. He knows it would shatter hearts. He has to know that.

You cannot go to Spurs in any capacity whilst having a statue outside the Emirates.

Bergkamp at Spurs will not happen.

I cannot see him ever going there, although he did talk of his admiration for Hoddle in the 80's in his autobio

Deffo make our starting line up no doubt in my mind. I would have him over Vermaelen and Big Mert (just). Younger, fitter and more mobile and just as passionate as the German. I would take the hit on height and experience, Mert would be a great backup.

    Gibbs Cahill Kos and Sagna.

As I said debatable ;), I wouldn't have him over Merts. Kos doesn't look as solid without Merts and vice versa Merts without Kos.

There a perfect partnership who compliment each other in styles.

In fact I'd say Merts is the lynchpin of the defence with his calmness and ability to read the game.

Just watch Verm and Kos play together and it can be a horror show there to similar but either in with Merts and the defence appears a hell of a lot more steady, with Kos helping form the better partnership.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,752 ✭✭✭✭AdamD

I think Kosc is the solid one, constantly covers for Mert's pace. Kosc and Verm look dodgy together because they both want to play on the left side of defence and are both too aggressive, they don't compliment eachother well at all.

He'd be more likely to take over as Ajax boss. Pretty sure they've been grooming him for that for a while too.

From what I remember from his book I think he said he doesn't have any interest in management.

Developing the club/players is his shindig

Also does his refusal to fly not severely hamper his ability to manage anyway?

More on the tinternet about Sagna holding out for a "Money Move" to Man City....boils my blood that!!! £80K a week not good enough for the fooker! Consistent player but would not be too upset if he was getting sold. Losing him on a FREE is a different story.:mad::mad:

Sagna has been a great servant to is and pretty loyal as well if we can't reach an agreement with him, I hope he gets all the money he can where ever that will be

Even if he stays in the prem I would think he would get a great reception when he comes back

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,431 ✭✭✭dvemail

Will be a big loss to see Sagna go but I can't fault him for leaving.
Has been one of our most consistent players since he joined in '07 and would say he has gotten plenty of offers from other clubs since joining but he has stayed. Can't bregrudge him for wanting a big bump in pay for his last few years in professional football.

Could also be said Merts covers for Kos rashness in the tackle, Merts it's the reader of the game Kos plays more the sweeper role tidying up the bits Merts misses.

Together they defend brilliant one without the other has there flaws and can look suspect.

Kos just gains more plaudits because he tends to be the more spectacular of the two making more last ditch tackles

Will prove a huge mistake, unsettling a defence which finally looks like each one knows what the other is about.

    Takes years to build that.

Anyone else think the Sagna to City move is an odd one, going to a club that has one of the two right backs better then you in the league at 4 years your junior.

If it could be swung into boyhood Gooner and versatile defender Micah Richards the other way then I wouldn't be too upset

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,012 ✭✭✭✭Alfred Borden

I think he might play centre back with Kompany.

I think your vastly over rating Sagna as a CB. Also no way would City be buying him as a CB.

cant see him going to sit on the bench though and wont get in at right back.

Not good enough and does not have anywhere near the physical presence to be a CB in the EPL.

What has he done to make you think he couldn't be an excellent centre-back?

I deffo think that its the experience that MERT has that gels the two of them together. IMHO if they were both young players they would not gel as good and both would be very rash and aggressive. Mert deffo covers Kos not the other way around....;)

it's probably more than what he hasn't done.

he hasn't even played 60 minutes there, has he? not that i can remember anyway, played there against sunderland after someone got sent off, heading it away basically, something he's good at & a few minutes this season
