Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The Alfa 4C would be mine when they depreciate in a few years hopefully

    alfa-romeo-4c1.jpg

More current dream is a 1.75 TBi 159 Ti in red or black to replace by 1.9JTD Ti.

Would also consider a Brera 1.75TBi but would have to get the S alloys as below
    brerav6s08_34ft.jpg

Have also considered the Giulietta Cloverleaf as mentioned but can't decide if I like the front or not.

I like my current Legend, and I like the looks of these. I could see myself having one in years to come.

    800px-2003-2005_Audi_A8_%284E%29_sedan_%282011-01-05%29.jpg
Again, I like the looks of these and I've been a passenger in a 3.7 V8 and it was marvelous.

    800px-CL_63_AMG_Paris.jpg
Perhaps not an AMG, but just a 5.0 V8. I really like the looks of these, inside and out.

I love everything about these except the petrol bill ;)

Seriously, they're great value for money. Except the petrol.

Walking through Cork City centre earlier and a Quattroporte passed me. The noise off it  Looks far more elegant in person than in pictures. An absolutely beast of a car.

One passed me on the motorway day before yesterday - very nice car. Also met an Audi R8 today -the wide, flat fecker - I kinda drooled a bit. Twas new too, in white with black engine cover, just outside Naas. I like..

Glad to see there is a few MQP fans...

This is my ultimate dream car...listed for 120k euros at the moment though...(actual pictures below).
Not the most powerful, but just the character and the charisma of that car drives me nuts. Specifically the one below

I was told recently by an ex owner, the QP is more comfortable that a 7 series E65/E66

    Clio 197
    Megane 225
    Megane rs250 / rs265

Determined to own at least one of these I think I'm being fairly realistic but think any of the 3 would be a class car going by reviews and I've always loved Renault sport cars :)

A good friend collected his new Golf GTTDI (think that's right, it's the fast diesel golf) yesterday - feck sake, for a diesel, it really, really rocks. Solid drive and goes like absolute stink - again, I like.

Sister has a Volvo P1800s and it is dreamy, but then again, the eldest and his mate are (still) outside putting new speakers into my MR2 that I "gave" him to drive and fcuk me, looking at it under lights, with all the doors open and the leather gleaming, bodywork curving and spitting, I kinda think I already have my dream car.

Does it really though. Diesel is such a disappointment. Spoiled with torque yet somehow lacking.

I would love to have a drive in this someday and see if it's as farcical as I think it probably is.

SOUNDS LIKE A GOLF GTD 180 BHP GOLF R HAS 300 BHP PLUS 4 WHEEL DRIVE. WHICH MR2 DO YOU HAVE STAVROS IF IT'S THE SECOND ONE WATCH OUT FOR LIFT OFF OVER STEER SAME PROBLEM WITH THAT MID ENGINE CLIO POSTED ABOVE

Rubbish! Drive a 2014 intercooled turbo diesel, tell me it doesn't blow away every pre-2008 car, petrols included. Unbelievable performance for a diesel.

Just got back from a spin in the newly sub-woofered MR2. Under-rated, under-valued, Ferrari equalling little bit of gear. Toyotas finest incarnation of curves+mid engine+drift=smiles.

I've driven the diesel version of the gti which must be the car you are referring to.
My point is that you get so much torque low down even going about your business every day that you get used to it. It only sets you up for disappointment on a sporty drive as there is no extra satisfaction to be had from it.
Without doubt driving away in my own car after, it felt like the turbo had gone awol but after about 2 mins, it was back to being a much more satisfying drive where you can push on and get some high revs performance.

I don't think the internet has enough space to list all my realistic dream cars as I have so many. Top of my list today is this. Not the soft top or the T-top but the coupe. One of the sexiest "affordable" Ferrari imo.

Serious though, most diesel intercooled turbo for many recent years, no diesel Golf GTD or whatever it called is as wonderful as you seem to think.

Do we really have to do this sh*t again?
As soon as someone says he likes diesel the pedril brigade pipes up with "all diesels are crap, that means no matter what you drive a 1 liter petrol Micra is automatically better"
    Childish.
I've driven plenty of rubbish petrols with whiney, puny engines.
So now let's skip to the end of this debate:
For my money, my diesel is the best performance I can afford.
Petrol brigade: oh yeah? You should try a 2 liter turbo petrol!
Me: yes, when I win the lotto.
So now come lots of "but DPF! DMF! Injectors!"
Well, I did the clutch but at now 280k km I'm not complaining.
So, if you like your petrol fine, and if I like my diesel and you don't like it and get worked up about it, what a stressful world you live in.
