Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi
I'll soon be commuting to London 5 days per week for work but remain on Irish contract, so theoretically not UK resident. Is it possible for me to have a NS number to be entitled to NHS GP care in this situation? I will have a UK address.

They will look for proof that you are a permanent resident and living and paying tax in the UK. If you are paying tax there, have an address and a bank account you should be ok.

Health tourism is a big issue at the moment, so they are fairly strict by all accounts.

If you were a cross border worker there would be no doubt as to your entitlements. See here ( http://www.borderpeople.info/index/browse-all/browse-detail.htm?objId=7578 ). I suspect there is something similar for those on detached duty such as is the case here. Remaining on an Irish contract will only affect your tax position for a short period. Ultimately, you would become UK tax resident. Your employer needs to get you advice on this matter.
