    Hi All,
I'm the process of getting Geo Heat Pumps specs and quotes for my build.

From various posts here would I be correct in thinking that Danfloss and Nibe would be some of the better regarded makes. Am I missing out on any brand worth considering?

Got a quote back using a Worcester Bosch anybody have any experience with these ?

Please reply by PM if you would please.

    Thanks
    Bifl

The company we're building with here in Germany uses Viessmann and they (the company we're building with) specialise in renewables and have a very solid reputaion, so I wouldn't expect them to use any rubbish.

Nibe, Thermia & Danfoss (both same), Worcester bosch (originally IVT), Dimplex all good brands of heat pumps. When you pay that bit extra you get a better heat pump. Think also about a company that will still be able to provide you with spare parts in 5-10 years time.

What's just as important is the sizing, installation, setup and commissioning.

Just for people on here looking for advice when building, most of the above mentioned heat pumps are far from high quality and should not be regarded as such, they are average or should I say budget heat pumps, with poor service from the main agents,
Also don't be fooled by claims by a particular company about their world record breaking machine which they may have invented themselves!!!!

Perhaps you might suggest some quality heat pumps?

So what would be the better quality heat pumps available?

Nibe, Thermia, IVT, Viessmann, CTC, Ochsner. All great heat pumps. Try pick a heat pump from a heating based manufacture. Not one that was cooling and now is in the heating game. They typically don't have a decent handle on the heating controls.

Thanks soundskin. Out of that list I have looked at Thermia, IVT and Ochsner. Ochsner being the Rolls Royce of heat pumps, I didn't look into them too much as they are also Rolls Royce prices. IVT have a very high COP so this maybe the one to go for. Thanks for the list, must look into the other names.

I agree, all these rehashed air con units that are now heat pumps, not even at the races when you compare to a really good ground source unit like Heliotherm, COP of 6.15, streets ahead of even all the ground source units listed here, and another world from The cheap air conditioning manufacturers units

What's the COP of the IVT?
If you'd actually looked into an oschner heat pump like I have, quite a lot of them recently, you wouldn't be comparing them to a rolls Royce,
