How to age a mauser 66

duckman!!

My brother bought an old mauser 66 7x64 awhile ago, Lovely gun!
But we can't tell what year it was made,
Does anyone here know how?

Here's a picture of some numbers stamped on the side.
Other then the serial number this is the only other writing!!



As you can see there's the numbers 773. On the right is what looks like antlers?
On the left of the numbers there is what looks like a sideways eagle?
Any help would be great!!

July 1973.

7 = Month 73 = year.

Half-antler - Ulm and Oberndorf Proof House. This being a Mauser it will be Oberndorf.

The eagle + N = Federal eagle over Nitro proof. there will be a lot more underneath the barrel, too.
