    On the 166?

    I'm fairly sure it's a parking related injury :)

Never really post in motors so figured I'd show my car history!

First up was my first car, a 02 Honda Civic 1.4 EP1, had that for 6 years, never let me down!
    0JmbbVhl.jpg?1

Got bored with the Civic after so long, so switched it out for this, 02 Audi A4 TDI, loved that car, never game me trouble, and only sold it due to immigrating!
    Wc8Ohltl.jpg?1

Moved to the US, and was offered this for cheap, 03 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0l I6, only kept it for a few months due to it being the biggest heap and the repairs costing more than the car was worth!
    5eFHSwYl.jpg?1

Which leads us to today, where I traded in the above last week, for the CUV below! 07 Mitsubishi Outlander 3.0l V6, with all the toys (Leather, Navigation, Sound System, Climate Control) still too new to give a report on reliability, but loving it so far!

So today my rear splitter arrived, fixes up the back lovely!
Also decided to remove the rear spoiler and I think it has cleaned up the lines to no end!
Only problem is that now the 2 bumpers and the boot needs spraying!

Other than that I fitted the two shocks needed, remember the ones that
we were going to need another bailout to pay for :o

Here's a nice pic in the pal's shed.
At least it sits dead level now!

    336189.jpg

Oh and if anyone wants parts for an early Octavia in beige let me know, there's one breaking near me :)
A chap flipped this into a river just down from us, miraculously got out and left it there!
Got a lift home and not been seen since!
    Miracle he survived!

I'd reckon on that being the deciding factor, it was lost on a corner just before where he went in. The rear one that would have been loaded is the one thats obscured, was into the canvas!

    Ha ha ha!

He is a mechanic though, its not like his hobby shed :)
If I told you I'm not really in the middle in that pic you'd probably get sick, there was a corsa, an estate avensis and a renault traffic van being worked on over my right shoulder! Plus his incredible amount of bikes!

Would be a good poster for the reception area of a tyre fitters to emphasis the importance of having good tyres :D.

Even though they'll have no problem putting ditch-finders on it if you ask them for the cheapest tyre they have

Here is the perfect impression of the philips head screw of the number plate of the car that drove into the back of me today.

I'd find this kind of neat if it wasn't my baby on the receiving end :(

Anyone care to throw a ballpark figure on what they think the cost of getting that fixed is? First impact I've ever had...!

  • Registered Users Posts: 73,454 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

I don't think its the first impact the bumper had though.

I'd get the car looked at, but bumper respray should be €400-ish for a good job.

A bumper sticker may also suffice. I have a sticker on the camper covering a dent. It's a work of art even if I say so myself!

What makes you say that? Just the odds that a previous owner probably had a ding or 2?

  • Registered Users Posts: 19,854 ✭✭✭✭MetzgerMeister

No, just how easily the paint has cracked off. Looks like a sub-par paint job was done on it before.

Ah. To be honest, bumper always looked perfect and never notice anything before but I'd have never known that about the paint. Learn something new every day!

Just the way the paint flaked off suggests its not factory.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,660 ✭✭✭Voodoomelon

Not chance that's factory, pretty poor job by the looks of it! I reckon about €300-€400 too.

Went for a hangover curing spin up the wicklow mountains today.
Moody overcast weather, perfect for a b+w photo.
