What's the car in front of the Pug? Looks interesting.

An MGF with a spoiler......I think?

Correct, its an early MGF. Its a restoration project yet to begin. Loads to do to it. The joys!

    Wet-sanded and polished I think.

I know my alloys are complete **** but I'm hoping to have them changed for some nice OEMs by the Summer. I'm not too fussed for now anyway as I've only really gotten it on the road, taxed, insured etc this month. Really been enjoying it, and the high teens MPG :D

They're a stunning car. Hard to believe they came out in 1999.
So elegant compared to some of today's stuff.

Yeah, totally agree. This is still looking rather fresh after 14 years.

She was resprayed fully about two years ago, I wasn't happy with the finish though. From a distance it was clean but up close it annoyed me so last week I had the whole car wet sanded and polished. Came up very well.

Brakes are standard Brembo's for a 166 with updated front discs and EBC Greenstuff pads.

Really like that photo, thanks for your comments folks.

Love that colour. Is it a stock colour? Looks like an old colour youd see on a 1970's lancia/alfa.

Yeah that's a stock colour, Minerva Green it's called. Lovely pop to it when the sun hits it.

It certainly did, compared to what it was and even in General a fantastic finish. The price of the job varies by how many hours it needs, mine wasn't that far off four figures but worth it everytime.

Ian in Elite Auto Clean is your man, I'd highly recommend him. :)

I don't get the reason of the front reg plate being lower down on st's than on a standard focus. Think it would be better in the 'normal' place.

Can't say I really took any notice of it. It has a bigger grill than standard but I guess it could be up higher and off the grill maybe. Some have put them there alright and some put it to the right side but I don't like that myself.

3 RX-8's in a row, nearly as much torque as diesel Golf :pac: I jest, I love RX's I'd buy one but I couldn't live the petrol costs.

    25Mpg isn't that bad. It's done up to 28....
It's the 13Mpg around town that's the killer.

Not really a problem since I normally use the bus/train for going to work and the like, so it can get a full month from a tank.

Curiously, it produces much the same torque as a 1.5dci renault megane.
Coincidentally,, the 2nd gear ratio on the megane, is the same as 3rd on the Rx. (Including wheels)
So while the Megane is giving up at 60 and spitting pistons at 70, the RX is still pulling as strong all the way through 140....

Great colour on that picture, real deep and striking. What's the colour code for it? I'd guess Le Mans blue, but maybe Mystic Blue with the dark lighting and angle.
