That ridiculous quote was with 123.ie and I'm sure I could have gotten a cheaper quote but still. Also, I was able to get 10k cheaper just by changing address and occupation. Weird.

Are you a stuntman living on the Sun?

This might seem like an odd addition to this topic...

And I know its not something you'd see everyday.

But I said I'd post a couple of pics of my pride n' joy :)

    Suzuki Escudo Nomade 1996
    1.6L petrol.
Jap import of the vitara, selectable 4x4, etc. :)

She just passed the NCT last week. I only use this mainly for 'trucking around', on a regular basis, but not on long journeys as you can guess, I use a BMW 3 series, diesel 02' model for that.

    Looks nice Backfire.

And no - its not odd at all - this is what the threads here for - pics of your car - - its your car - so great to have it here

    I don't think I have ever heard of a quote over €5k.

    I got a quote of €5,500 for a '02 Corolla last year!

The year before my sister was getting quotes of up around €7,000 as she had a claim against her.

Love that Suzuki, it's a perfect little off road machine!

This is my new whip while the Mazda is keeping it's "project" status. :pac:

What was the source of the not starting problem?

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,721 ✭✭✭✭CianRyan

What was the source of the not starting problem?

Well, the clips on the fuse box in the engine bay were broken off so it was difficult to get in, when we did, it was discovered that the 80amp main fuse had been opened and clipped in the middle.
Definitely clipped and not blown as there was no burn markets, no white, black or blue smoke marks and not broken because well, that's impossible.

Someone that had access to the car before me broke it...
I've had this verified by a Nissan Technician.

    It's pretty good for on-road too, I think. :P

I'm starting to like it more and more every time I look at it.

Exact same problem with mine, but mine was blown, well the engine fuse anyway :P

I take it it's running now? Good luck with it!

Yep, as well as an auto Micra can run. :p
It's a perfect car except for a scrape on the bumper.
    It's got 30k miles and I'm the 3rd owner!

First time posting in a while, car's running loverly! Swift springs installed on the coilovers, handling is improved... plus much more compliant and controlled. Very impressed with them! Few other bits done to it too, and have a Apexi pfc on the way :pac:

Haven't been on here in a little while, but this is the new jammer. Baby-sblythe is due in a few months time so the CL had to go in favor of something a bit more practical, hadn't intended to sell it so quickly but it went after an evening on the net. I haven't ever had a fast Jap car before so it's a whole new experience, and I am really glad I ended up going for it, I chickened out of a MK2 Focus RS and looked at a pretty ropey Evo X, but I really couldn't have gotten a better car in the end.

Excuse the lack of rear plate there but I'm just back from the vrt office having her reged. She's a 04 btw but still looking fresh as ever. Newest car I've ever owned.
