Did I see your motor parked on Patrick's street this morning?

No it's a diesel version of mine but pretty much the exact same, it's owned by a guy that gave me the heads up about my one being for sale, I passed it too in the afternoon.

Just to throw a pic in the mix. Had this lad park next to me a while ago. He must have seen the tailback of onlookers that my exotic e46 caused before I parked up :p

The best part of boards.ie motors is there are men with ferraris chatting to boys with puntos peer to peer, with no snobbery etc. It's terrible that anyone with a 10k second hand lexus thinks the can view me as a peasant because their car comes with a superiority complex.

Who has the luxury Fiat Punto Ferraris?????

well with all the plastics its hard to see anything, but it has a very nice v6 in there and I did balance some coins on it to check how smooth it is. Its certainly no supercar but its more than capable of getting into double figures and beyond fairly sharply. But more important for me is comfort and the gizmos on board. This is the SEL model which I think many people don't realise is pretty rare, it being a manual also is pretty scarce.

    So 10+mph :D

What does the SEL model get you hachiko?

I know it isn't the case in England but here on the mainland it is customary to pull in (regardless of if you are doing 20, 80 or 200MPH) once there is a faster driver behind you. You were probably pissing the drivers behind you off as they are familiar with the road and can drive them faster.

Are you saying you actually expect everyone to move out of your way as you travel along the road? Didn't we invent the notion of 'overtaking' a few years ago to take care of this need?

Probably more likely that he didnt have the b*lls to overtake, but hangs on to the bumper as if he could. Like 90% of these eejits do.

If you are going faster, then overtake. Otherwise stay behind.

I could have done 100mph If I wanted, I am sure he wanted a race. I have been driving since about 1998 and I know when cars are up your hole a bit too close for comfort. I have noticed quite a few like that since I came here a few days ago. The aforementioned Focus and several BMWs and Audis were very close behind me more than once. This guy in his focus could have passed me out on several opportunities (ie with about 30 miles of empty straight roads ahead, when I passed out a few sunday drivers and went ahead of him he duly pulled up behind me again...)

Its not something i have had happen before, maybe a few petrol head types in England pull up close but certainly not has happened much.

SEL gets you a Mark Levinson unit (if specified, its about £2,300 option afaik). That includes the voice activated BT/Sat Nav.
Multi function elec Leather Heat and cool seats, w/driver & passenger memory
    Auto lights with AFS/HID
    Auto Wipers
Auto Dimming rear view mirror/side mirrors
    Rear electric blind
Keyless start/smart entry (opens door with no need to push buttons)

That's about the main things as far as I can see.
Even Jags don't get many of this stuff, I saw a Jag in Dursey with a garmin stuck on the window.

Guys*, don't want to come across a total d*ick here, as it might seem that :p, I am just posting up some pics and giving some feedback with this car (have given plenty of negatives too, like zero leg room at rear and probably and underwhelming v6, but ample for most people). I am in no way deluded as there are many better cars out there than mine but I am pretty happy with this, until I get a F next that is. I will remain pretty firm on not seeing many of these on the roads (seen 1 ISF in England on public roads (not including meet ups), and just a handful of is250s... and I am in the UK 4 years+). We are all car enthusiasts at the end of the day no matter what anyone drives.

the top speed quoted is north of 140 which is certainly on the fast side, i wont say how far i have taken it but just a bit below that.

I have 6 points just take from my licence recently for speeding.

Sorry nice car n all but I wouldn't bat an eyelid at an IS250...an IS-F however, I would be hanging out the window listening for that V8.

Was an IS-F that did a full on burnout leaving Galway C+C last year in an underground carpark.

    Well feck me sideways :p

My car was behind it, was detarring it for a week :(

My own fathers car has Auto everything and a touchscreen multimedia setup.
It's a 2010 1.6tdi Octavia. If you get a look around any modern cars they nearly all have auto everything. Where as the screens may be options they are creeping into cars.
It doesn't have a blind but as I said my car does.

If you refuse to believe that then you can, but all that auto stuff is standard issue for years in any mainstream saloon jobbies!

This is basically the fathers interior...

Its optional on quite a few cars though, even German ones and Jags. Adaptive HIDs for example are not on many, not just the auto lights and wipers. the ML screen is also touch sensitive (and voice activated also)

Not having a go at you of course.

I did not think a e36 had a electric blind, tell us more?
