I know the 1.8 is a better engine but I don't know if it would be a straight swap especially since he is gonna do it himself.

Supergurrier I've seen your Focus over in Tuam before a few months ago

Not a straight swap but I've a complete donor car. Engine box, loom etc all available. Tis easy enough as the mounting parts are all interchangeable.

Anyways as he states he is looking to stick to the 1.4.

I think you're relatively local to me Gvido. If ya need a hand with the swap send me a PM

Have been looking about for quite some time and I think it's time to post my own car.
Here's my pride and joy Glanza, toyotafanboi might recognise it, it's completely standard bar wheels at the minute as my standard wheels are getting a refurb, For those who are still reading and haven't already painted me with the boy racer that drives the s**t out of his car brush I'm far from it and am a genuine enthusiast like everyone else on here:) hopefully I won't get too much abuse.

They'll never be a classic if Business Cat has his way!

In the same way as 70s and 80s cars are classics because people grew up with them being the cars they lusted after at the time, the generation now would be looking at 90s Japanese cars in the same way.

Just about to drive back from cork and about 3 hours before it's engine threw in the towel a mile from home. At least it didn't happen on that morning on the way down to do 2 exams. Going to fit a new engine and fix it up a bit. Don't have time to do it at the moment so it's being parked up and I'm picking up an aul daysul workhorse tomorrow. Will sell on one or the other then...

Meow dare you suggest Business Cat is wrong!

Yeah, I think someone who says only euro or American cars can be classics has told you enough so that you can just stop listening to them at that stage.

Anyone who can't see classic qualifying material in an rx7, mr2, tidy glanza, Colin Mccrae era impreza.... but can see it in an XR2 or XR3... well...

Bearings gave up :(. Had a feeling when I bought it that it hadn't long left in it but thought it would be a year or so, not 3 months!

Miss the seats already. The focus seats are awful, feels like sitting in a desk chair in comparison. Have a plan though :)

You have that backwards, you get better MPG in warm weather, worse performance. :)

EDIT: Did you mean because the aircon is on? Ahhh who cares. :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,197 ✭✭✭SuperS54

Because the aircon is very very on!
