Went to town on the jeep this evening. Paintwork needs a small bit of attention, which I hope to get to over the coming weeks. It was starting to get neglected tbh.

So far the spot light surrounds were re-sprayed, along with the railings on the top and towbar

Must say, they look very well, better than all the alloys I see on that generation Corolla.

    Nice wheel, what are they?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,855 ✭✭✭nd

Idk I got them off a fellow on donedeal (for 200), he had them on an older corolla

They look identical to the MGF wheel.

    Nice choice, they look well

    Very nice set of wheels.

Lovely alloys they were well worth the trip and a good price too. What wheels were on it before steelies and covers was it I can't remember.

It was pretty short sighted not to consult the 100's of members on here (who don't have to pay your car tax) before choosing your engine :D

I think the tax for a 530d and a 520d is exactly the same :pac:

    Moar lows!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,855 ✭✭✭nd

lol the tires that were on the alloys are lower profile than I'd chose and the rim/tyre combo is slightly smaller than the originals. When it comes time to change the tires I'll get slightly higher profile ones.

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,930 ✭✭✭✭challengemaster

It does look ridiculously high now! haha

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,292 ✭✭✭Supergurrier

40 profile is the sweet spot

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,855 ✭✭✭nd

    They are 215/40/16

185/65/14 were on it. When changing I might go marginally bigger than the originals as I always felt 5th gear was a bit low geared at motorway speeds.

New ones are 4.5% smaller than old ones.

    In terms of circumference/diameter.

Have to agree there, a decent set of alloys make a world of difference

As you very well know! Any regrets not keeping the originals on, I remember you being slightly hesitant at the time?
