A face from the past came to visit today. Been almost a year since it was passed on to its new owner, yet it continues to progress through the years as a low miler car. 3,500 miles covered this past year. The odometer now reads 81,973 miles. Average that out over its 12 years, and it works out at covering 6.8k miles per year. Anyway, I obliged and gave it a well needed wash. I washed it last May, but you could see the algae and green bits start to build up. Out came the toothbrush and I banished it all!!
I polished it in August 2014 and it's still looking perfect!

Anyway, I have one before, the rest are afters.

I was battling against the failing light when taking the pictures....

Some of ye posters who have been here a while may remember when I tackled the front grille, sanded it back and resprayed it. To this day (about 2 years on) it still remains fresh, no flaking, chipping etc. It was my first real spraying attempt, I am well chuffed with it. (Black trim was dressed after the pic was taken just so you know!)

The last thing we did before passing it on was changing the reg plates, they made such a drastic impact on it, compared to them old style, punched out pressed metal plates.

Edit: These type of plates, which made the car look older.

    Looks like a Mk6 R yeah.

I'd say an mk6 r is as rare as that rs4 here! They're a lively car but j have never seen one in the flesh in Ireland! I've only seen one (possibly that one) in some pics from a c&c meet!

Hehe, it's either hit the cone or hit the window sill and scratch the paintwork. I learnt the hard way!

Nice machine but the wheels look pretty lost under it.

Really loving these standard wheels. The car could do with being lowered though - not sure whether to go with coilovers or just shocks with lowered springs.

    Want!!

Actually, have, but in black :pac:

That looks great :) shock and springs for me, much cheaper and if it's only for lor looks you won't need/ miss the extra adjustability of coilovers.

TRD make 25mm lowered springs for the car, which should be enough of a drop to make it looks better I think.

40mm seems to be the standard drop people do with Tein or other springs, but I've already scraped the sump off speed bumps with the tiny drop given by the new wheels so got to be careful :o
