What's the craic with the plate? Can you apply for anything you want in Australia or is it just a temporary/show one?

As far as I am aware you can.
Guy I know over in Melbourne had a nice Black Octavia vRS combi.

In WA you can have just about anything up to 9 or 10 letters. Other states are stricter/dearer

It's a great money earner for them.

And for the record, silver on black plates are picked up by speed cameras just fine
I've never seen anywhere make plates either, they are all supplied by the dept of transport.
