Can't quite believe I'm saying this but I just spent 100 quid on wheels nuts. Considering that was probably the yearly maintenance budget for some of my previous cars, ha. Ah well, there the real deal and won't break like the cheap knock offs.

Are stretched tyres good. The first time I noticed it was on the car as yours hi_im_fil.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,480 ✭✭✭YbFocus

It allows you to clear arches when you have a lowered car :)

Also there is the slightly cheaper aspect of not buying quite such an expensive tyre :)

Not a great thing to go and stretch a long way on a daily car though!

Not a good idea to stretch tyres a lot tbh. As said it allows the tyres to fit under the arches because of large wheels. If the "correct" size tyre was on then the tyre would catch on the arch constantly. I think it can add to tyre wear too due to the tyre being pulled out of its natural shape.

That being said I've done 25k miles on them with no issues (other than tyre wear - but that could be more down to the aggressive wheel alignment settings)

Love the car, and photography. The Meisters are very very nice too. Must be 12j or so rears? Didn't pick them up from JDMdistro (Japanese performance) by any chance?

Not that wide, just have a negative offset (10.5J et -26). No I didn't get them of JDMdistro. They were on the car when I got it 2 years ago. The rears were brought in by the guy who did the archwork on the car maybe 5 years ago.

New car! :D Battery died in SLR, so phone pic for the moment as proof.

Just rolled over to 32K Km today on the way home. Very clean and good for the size. It's got the 1.2 69hp engine.

Few bits and pieces to do such as replace the plates, remove dealer stickers, and replace some faded badges on the alloys, and clean it better. There are a few other subtle things I have planned too. Basically, it's just a little runabout. :)

Looks very nice! I always liked the Panda, I'd love one of the 100hp one's, I'd say they'd be a hoot to drive!

Yeah, good bit of fun but not too many around, and they need aftermarket suspension. Apparently the back hops around a bit.
