Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Lovely set of wheels, but yeah maybe lower it a tad. Still need to look for a decent set for my 08, dont ill go standard though since most of them have the standard 18 inch oems

Cheers man, yea if I do lower it it would be very slightly, might just put some paving slabs in the boot!:p
CX9 has 19/20 inch wheels might be worth looking at!

19s would just be way too big for me, id be looking 18s at the very most, only sold my old coupe because it was so uncomfortable. Id say a decent set of 17's would suit and maybe some springs if it looks too boaty.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,854 ✭✭✭✭MetzgerMeister

Even the 6MPS itself could have done with lowering. I put H&R springs into my one but it just scraped all over the place. The Eibach springs are perfect as they don't put it so low that it scrapes!

Here's my Grande Punto. It's the "sport" version, so it's got a few extra features than a regular GP. Engine is a standard 1.3 diesel, 90hp. It'll have 100,000km in a few days. I have it since 2008, not a single issue since then!

(I only got a flat a couple of times)

(... ok maybe a little more than a couple )

Here it was still in Italy, right after having washed it
    1lchq8w.jpg
    81iNUrT.jpg

    And here in Dublin
    AvCvbZu.jpg

I got it at 18 years old, with it I drove from central Italy to Berlin, Paris... and now to Dublin. At the end it's nothing special, but to me it is. Lots of memories with this car, I really couldn't leave it behind!

After 7 years, it still looks brand new, especially the inside. I don't have a picture for that, but the seats and the wheel are like these ones: http://www.carenthusiast.com/fiat/fiat_grandepunto2006_015.jpg

Of course, the steering wheel is on the RIGHT side... if you know what I mean :D not like in that picture

PS: don't worry, I already replaced the headlights, and I'll register it here shortly :-P

They are a great car the GP. We've one as well and hasn't put a foot wrong in the near 2 years we own it.
We've also the same alloys as you, which look great when they are cleaned up... keep feckin forgetting to get a pic of it up :/

Those pictures show up fine for me, but some times some of the ones you guys put up are crazy, like 2500x2500. Try to resize pictures to 800px when possible.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,720 ✭✭✭Hal1

I think that's more or less original regarding the space in the engine bay.

Going doing the Wacky Rally in July so was on the hunt for some good bangernomics.

Picked up this 2002 Accord for 500e, NCT until March 2016 and running great besides what seems like warped brake discs at the front.

Going to be a shame destroy it! :)

Thats a ****ing bargain in my books

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 635 ✭✭✭BillJ

I thought so too. 170k miles on it but running great. Bit of service history too, it's 1.8vtec so not hugely powerful but does the job and is reliable.

Looks like a really new radio in it too, with bluetooth and AUX port, currently doing up a playlist for the roadtrip :)

Would be willing to swap it for something more unique/powerful that has NCT until July 9th, would be a good swap for someone with a car running out of NCT!

    What's the whacky rally?

http://www.wackyrally.co.uk/barmy-barcelona-2015 this is the route we are doing.

Basically you by a cheap car, paint/decorate it to look ridiculous or in a certain theme. Drive from Lille down through the Alps and French Riviera through 7 or 8 countries to Barcelona. Roughly 80 cars doing it, challenges along the way too.

Closest thing i'll get to doing one of those top gear challenges ha

Sweet F all. The mother of all bargains.
500e for a 02 Accord with under a years NCT and she looks good too..
When I wrote "500e..." I meant it like "unbelievable"

Was surprised myself, if my bargaining skill were better would have gotten it for 475.
