Hi Guys, im in the market to get a new camera. I dont know much about photography and just want something light and compact to capture the special moments in life. I was thinking something along the lines of the Panasonic Lumix TZ40 might be useful. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Check out the Sony rx100. Not cheap, but amazing quality. Got it as an slr backup. As other poster said, check out the bigger thread
