Has anyone played New Little King's Story on the PS VITA or the Wii? I started playing it today. I needed something new for my daily commute and realised I had it in my download queue thanks to PS+.

It really isn't my type of game but I'm going to give it a try. I've put an hour into now and so far it is mostly tutorial. Having said that I am enjoying it thus far. There is a lot to learn but I can see the game being satisfying as you build up the world around you.

I'm a bit worried about the amount of conversations you are forced to have but it might even out as I get further into the game. For those who have played it, have you any tips to share?

In a strange way I miss having a commute. I had a DS and I played so many good games on my commute that I would never play normally.

I played Little King when it came out on the Wii and it's a much deeper game than the graphics and presentation might have you think. The only advice I have is stick with it. The early missions might be a bit dull but the game gets even better (and much more challenging) when you unlock some of the weirder areas.

Always bring a mix of subjects, although mainly soldiers, with you when first exploring an area as you will need your specialists. You can return with your army once you find the boss.

The Vita version is no were near as good as the Wii game. They really ruined it on Vita while the Wii game is a gem.

What did they get wrong with the Vita version?

The controls mostly. It doesn't seem right to me. It's missing a lot of the charm of the original as well.
