So as the title suggests I'm looking for recommendations for 4-player games on pc. I have 4 xbox pads and we'll try anything from FPS's to quiz games.

I was kind of disappointed when i realised there was no local multiplayer for LFD2 or borderlands 2.

We've been playing fifa, worms, towerfall-ascension, and speedrunners (great little game that is perfect for local mulitplayer) http://store.steampowered.com/app/207140/

Is there any decent tennis games around? and where the hell are the tiger woods games, they were always good with a few cans and friends on a fri night :)

    Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I have a game I'm working on at the moment that should work fine with 4 xbox controllers if you wanted to give it a go? It is not fully finished yet but there are a good few mini games that are playable

It is a up to 8 player multiplayer mini-game collection where you control cars in different game modes

There is some more info and screen shots here

I could send you a demo later if you'd like?

Not entirely sure if they are all available to play locally but:

Defcon, Age of Empires II, Unreal Tournament 2k4/Quakes, Command & Conquer possibly?

There is a game out tomorrow called Trials Fusion, motorbike racing, that will have 4 player couch multiplayer.

With some easy tinkering you can (or at least could unless they've changed it) play splitscreen in L4D2 on the PC with Xbox controllers. Button mapping might have to fiddled with a bit but I got it working years ago and it ran perfectly..

Hammerwatch is a fun, if shallow, hack 'n' slash adventure game/dungeon crawler. Reminds me of Gauntlet.

Also, if going by Mr. Bloat's above list, bear in mind that the first Shadowgrounds game does not play well with controllers. Even the sequel, Survivor, requires some 'fiddling around with' to get working properly, I believe.

What no mention of sonic all stars racing transformed yet!

Good mario kart style racer, was hooked for a few weeks and that was just the single player!

Nidhogg is good fun. It's one on one but has a winner stays on and tournament mode. Spectating can be just as fun as playing: http://www.nidhogggame.com/

    Also supposed to be fun:

I think command and conquer has a co-op mode but most of those game aren't good with a controller...

    That would be great!

I'll send you a link tomorrow evening as I am currently working on trying to improve the menus, but regardless if I get that done or not I'll have a demo to give you!

Unreal Tournament 2004 + 3 are a great laugh, you can set up the teams vrs Bots on multiple difficulty levels and gametypes.

    Mohaa / COD / Left4Dead / Castle Crashers / Defcon / CIV 4

    Oh......SWAT 4 is a good one too,

Then there are classics like Worms , Mario Kart etc and anything else you can think of from Emulators. Old arcade games that had 4 players.

Here is a link to a demo of the game

I did not get to finish the menus so its an older build.

Plug in controllers before launching the game. Let me know if you have any issues with it!

It's very much so in pre-Alpha state at the moment, but if you've got 4 controllers hooked up to the PC you could try Gang Beasts:

I got a bit of craic out of it for the princely sum of zero Euro
