Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My daughter changed passwords on her ipod touch, didn't take note of new password, forgot new password and then managed to disable it. So I followed these instructions
Alternatively, place the device in recovery mode and restore it to erase the device:
1.Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2.Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to shut down.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
4.Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
5.iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then restore the device.
    from here

and am now at the stage where I get to restore as new (there isn't a backup to iTunes or to icloud! Valuable lesson learnt and one she isn't going to forget. Or my either - I've 2 laptops and a pc currently backing up!).

Before I proceed, is there any way of recovering the photos either :

now, before I hit the restore button

or after I restore it as new.

(it's not really huge issue if it's going to be a lot of hassle or costly exercise then I'll just go ahead and restore)

    thanks
    able

Not sure if it will work but download ifunbox and run it with the ipod connected.

thanks guil - do you think I should try this before or after I complete restore?

Definitely before, if you restore it will be wiped.

OP i reckon if you have followed the steps then the device has already been wiped so i would say the chance of getting back the photos is pretty slim but maybe Guils recommendation might help.

didn't work - probably should have tried it before starting the restore process but as the ipod was in disabled mode it may not have worked anyway.

that ifunbox does look like a useful program.
