Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Go to a registered dietitian. I have been going to one in Cork for the same symptoms. Wouldn't know any in Dublin..but I'm sure there is a list of them somewhere!

Might be worth contacting Danny, if he can't help I'm sure he can advise you elsewhere.

I did an intolerance test last yr and showed I was intolerant to high fat foods - no more eggs, beef, cashews. Was doing a plan 4 a week or two that involved coconut milk and avocados and after a few days copped that these were a no no too. Have u been to your gp? Just to rule out anything sinister

    hi,
you can find a list of registered professional dietitians at indi.ie
alternatively there may be a dietitian linked in with your local gp.

I think you need a GP before a dietician.

The symptoms you describe could be a number of things (some quite urgent medical problems) and you'll need medical tests that only a doctor can order to rule them out.

If you come back with a diagnosis of IBS (assuming it's not something more serious - seriously get checked) then there are a number of scientifically validated nutritional strategies that you can take.

Definately consult your gp first. I am having similiar problems. Always put it down to self diagnosed IBS but finally took the plunge and talked to my gp. Getting a colonoscopy soon to rule out anything more sinister, then if all comes back clear she will refer me to a dietician/nutritionist.

    Best of luck xx

I agree that your GP is the first port of call for stabbing pains and such symptoms, going by the info you've given us. Not because there's anything seriously wrong with you, but because the GP will have to rule out various medical causes of your pain before a dietician will be able to help you. Is there any reason you decided to consult a nutritional expert before a GP?

I'm just wondering was there any particular reason you chose to do an intolerance test? Were you having symptoms? Or was it just curiosity?

Was having severe bloating (my dad asked my mum was I pregnant at 1 stage.. I wasn't) and having regular constipation. When I cut out what came out as a high intolerant on the test I did feel much better. I then went on a regime 4 the gym and the bloating didn happen but digestion slowed down again so am assuming it was the high fats in the coconut milk and avocados. Im a nurse, early 20s, target range for IBS. Will b going to get a proper work up l8r this year to be safe.
