Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Decent opening fifteen minutes from Utd but Everton on top for the last ten. Nani's touch a bit heavy so far but that's to be expected I suppose given his lay off. He'll improve as the game goes on you'd think.

Rooney and his bloody hard on for playing long balls when theres a short one on.

One of Carrick and Fletcher have to stay back. Everton are winning the second ball that's being broken down in front of our centre backs.

    What are you at Phil?

I'm guessing the ref felt that it was an easy save for De Gea if he hadn't done it

Was just about to reply to this saying I'd much prefer Jones and Smalling to swap positions if one has to be RB, and then this happens. He can be be downright stupid at times.

Buttner and Fletch have been brilliant. Hope the heads dont drop now.

Game has really opened up with the pen. But one thing i noticed. As this is the first Everton game ive watched this season. They are playing a lot of long balls and hoping for the lukaku knockdown to Naismith is it? I thought everyone said that the Martinez brand is almost exclusively short passing etc. Kryo's point earlier stands now even more imo

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

Why the hell does Rooney keep doing that stupid ball over and over

Utd fans singing justice for the 39, strange. Fair play to the Everton fans booing them

Not a bad game, equalizer coming

So Fcukn annoying watching Rooney do that over the top ball when the D is so far back, what an eijit!

    Smalling is playing woefully today

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,949 ✭✭✭✭Mars Bar

They have been playing long balls but it's obviously something they found that they felt they could exploit. Fair play to them.

Still cant get over that ball he did to smalling when nani was right there in a shooting area.
Straight to everton then they go and score.

I'm not saying that there is a right and wrong way to play. Just that Moyes is slated for apparently playing long balls all the time. Which is untrue. And Martinez lauded for never playing route one, which is also very untrue.

We can play either way depending on the opposition - not saying we're brilliant at either approach - but it does give an aspect of unpredictability

He is always poor when played at full back, yet there he is.

Everton weren't the right team to try this team out against, I'd have loved to see it against a different team that doesn't have the most dangerous full backs in the league.

What is with Rooney?! I don't think he has made one correct decision so far. Mata was arriving late to the box

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,902 ✭✭✭MagicIRL

300 grand a week he's on! ****ing atrocious!

What is Rooney at... Mata free on the edge of the area and he tries to poke it through 5 defenders.. He's been awful so far
