Noooo to Friday!! Working Friday nights. Weekend after that sounds good. Seems really far away though. Could two happen? Two weeks time and the weekend after that?

There are about four of us in the thread who can do weekdays. The four of us could always do a bit of route reconnaissance for a later weekend spin?

Me likey. slap/dash is out the 14th and 15th so how about the 16th? The Friday? I haven't a clue about where would be good, being allergic to hills I have avoided cycling in Wicklow unless I get lost and end up there, so my usefulness as a reconnaissance person is limited. I am however, really quite slow so I'd be a great pace unmaker. :D

ETA unless we do it of the Thursday evening, maybe he can make it then? I have Sundrive on Wednesday eves so can't do weds.

Anyone free Friday morning for a spin maybe two hours or so. Nothing too hectic. (Southside)

Would a fat guy on a triple with 32m tyres be welcome?

    Is everyone South side?

No, I'm north side (and a slow cyclist)!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,479 ✭✭✭rollingscone

What's a good central place to meet for heading to Wicklow?

If it was all south side I was going to suggest the Yellow house

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 6,856 Mod ✭✭✭✭eeeee

Yellow House works. Rathfarnham isn't it?

Unless you're talking about getting back before 8am, won't be there myself, so enjoy. Might go out on Saturday, though weather not looking good, and at a serious bash on Saturday night, so any Sunday spin would be late morning earliest with an extra dollop of slowness and groans added to my already tardy self. Yellow house works well for me as start point for any spins.

And what about all the fine Boardsies of the North County? If I was to make the Yellow House for 6am, I'd have to be rolling out at about 4.30am!:D

Both my bikes are triples, the hybrid on 32s the road bike on 25s. If there's a few people on wider tyres, a nice early morning spin is up Kilmashogue lane, into the Coilte track for some light off road up the hill, and back down via Tibradden. Pretty short, but a mad old ramp and worth the effort from the times I've done it. Only in around an hour, but a nice early morning or evening option.

One of you guys should "nail it down" and start a new thread as in this one but date it down this weekend as per.
Boards.ie Spin Saturday blah blah.....a few will turn up.
Meet a few more beginners and I would stress "beginners" so more would turn up.
    Deux centimes.

    Eh.......weather ain't the best but.....

 You'll frighten most of them off!

My Garmin shows 20%+ several times on the way up there including 24% at one point.

My understanding was the 18th, but either would work for me as I try and get out for a spin most weekends.

So do people still want to do this tomorrow? The Yellow House at half 9? I have no idea where to go from there though, I avoid the southern lumpy bit of Dublin/Wicklow!

Sadly I have to bow out. Unlikely that I'll be around in the am. Epic day today; meeting an old friend for drink in a few and I've acupuncture at 130. Not to mention my aunt over from chi town in a suprise visit amarach

Oooh sounds exciting! Well I am going to wimp out of the lumpy direction and head out west me thinks. Tea and cake in Enfield for me tomorrow!
