Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The design is very nice but if it was brushed aluminum like my M8 it wioukd be even better but i think i actually prefer it to my M8, 5.5 inches is perfect for me and it so fast and smooth

I got mine in August - not one of the early batch - and it definitely does have a yellow band at the bottom of the screen.

Few people on the opo forum giving out about some defects and random restarts as well. Seems like a bad batch recently. I am gonna order next week during the pre order and I hope the current batch that they will use for pre orders does not have problems!

Received my one on Saturday, and according to date on the box, manufactured 5th of October. No problems, hardware or software, so far! :)

I got mine in July and didn't have it.Is it very noticeable ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,319 ✭✭✭emo72

Got mine in august, and didn't notice it until about a month after it. So no, it's not easily noticeable. I only spotted late one night in complete darkness. If I turn on the on screen buttons it totally disappears.

Daytob what are your settings for the color app? I have it but didn't like the trial and error way to use it. Would love someone to give me the exact settings that work.

I honestly wish people would stop mentioning it, as I forget it's there in the intervening times, it's that unnoticeable. :D

I think it's a very subjective problem in that it's extremely noticeable to some & completely invisible to others. It also does not seem to affect all handsets equally. It might be very prominent on some i.e. immediately visible the first time you power the device on, or not exist at all for others.

The easiest way to spot it in my case is to fire up gmail, the messages at the bottom of my inbox are ever so slightly duller & have a slight yellow tinge. But as I said, unless someone mentions it I forget about it completely!

I dont have it, never did so I was just finding you a way of fixing it. No yellow tint on my phone with 20/20 vision and all kinds of lighting that I have checked it in

So I've not followed the Oneplus One hype at all, and now I want one.

what's the best way of getting one to Ireland as cheap as possible?!

Well the invite system is going to be gone soon, but if you get one before then use it. Mine worked out at about €360 delivered, it is supposedly cheaper to use the German forwarding company than parcel motel. It's not that parcel motel are expensive it's just the phone is cheaper to buy in Germany than UK.

There is a set amount of bands that the OPO covers. Just because it was bought on the US store doesn't mean it doesn't have the bands the services in Ireland use. The bands might be different in the US but the OPO has bands which work in Ireland.

My OPO from the US works on most bands here in Australia apart from a new band which is coming next month for Telstra.

I bought my ONO from America works fine here but I still think the Galaxy Note is way better I also have an Invite if someone wants it.
I have since given the ONO to my sister and I am purchasing the Galaxy Note 4 tomorrow (Hopefully) :)

Me please for that invite! Thanks.

I'd get the Note 4 if I could afford it! A mate of mine has it and is very pleased with it.

Considering changing from 48 to ANY other network that has 4G and decent network plans.
Just to clear this up - Which providers does OPO work with and which doesn't? (4G wise)

Some people are saying they only take Paypal and will only take a Paypal registered in the UK. Is this true? How did you all get to buy one?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,513 ✭✭✭digitaldr

Definitely not true - I've bought 3 OPOs with my Irish registered paypal account. Gave my Dublin address for billing and Parcelmotel for shipping.

What was the total cost of one delivered to your door and was it 16 or 64gb?

    Thanks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,968 ✭✭✭✭Thargor

Pretty sure its always €348 delivered with Parcel Motel from the UK site, I doubt anyone here has a 16 GB, they were only available for a short while, its been that price for 64 GB Sandtone Black for months now, no other option.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,513 ✭✭✭digitaldr

I've just checked my PayPal account - €358.43 for the phone and €7.45 to Parcelmotel (€3.95 basic charge + €3.50 extra insurance as without this they're only liable up to €100). So total cost was €365.88. I've since heard that it's a bit cheaper to use the German site and use mailboxde.com to get it shipped to Ireland. My sister-in-laws both want OPOs so I'll probably try this route next time.

Did anyone see the announcement by one plus today regarding invites for November?

    1. Anyone who bought the oneplus one in august, September or October will each get 3 invites lasting 7 days.

    2. Also there will be 1 day invites to all members up to 320,000

whats the difference in buying a one plus one from a chinese android shop and getting an invite?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,900 ✭✭✭daytob

Warranty, dealing with the actual manufacturer, the fact that you may not get cyanogen if you go the other way, having said that dont think anyone got that much of a dodgy one.
