Love it, still to this day, have it a few months and cant fault it, sure there has been the odd issue but I can ignore that, when i soon realise I have a phone that has the potential to last me a few years. It wont mind, but it is a phone that you could buy and still feel pretty chuffed by it 2 years down the line when you think how much you have saved.
Camera is amazing * for what I have taken and need
Sound - stunning
calls - nowt dropped so no issues there
screen is stunning
speed - this phone can handle everything I throw at it with ease
gps - even in the arsehole of tullamore or carlow, other phones have struggled, this one does not

overall : a class phone. buy it go break out of the contract and never look back

Similar to the other replies I can't fault it at all. Switched over from iOS and the improvement with android is just staggering. The little things like a working notification center and ability to control 3G/LTE at the touch of a button are such a welcome change.

On the phone itself it is pretty hard to describe how good it is without sounding like a fanboy. It really is brilliant. Any problems I have had are either fixed with a reboot or with one of the regular updates. Stupidly fast, audio clarity is amazing, UI easy to navigate, charges very fast when plugged into the mains, battery is second to none, screen size makes watching anything a pleasure.

I have a long journey in the mornings and I have started to put episodes of TV shows onto my phone to watch. The literally takes two clicks when it is connected to the laptop.

The only minor complaints I have is when I hold the phone in one hand I cant reach the button on the bottom left of the screen with my thumb. But I wanted a big clear screen so it's a trade off I had to make. I don't like the Gallery on the phone at all. Hows it laid out is annoying and unclear so I just use Photos. I have actively looked for faults in it and so far they are the only two I could find. For the price there is absolutely nothing that even comes close to this.

Does the phone handle 4G on vodafone? I've heard that it doesn't, can anyone give me first hand experience on this?

It doesn't have the 800Mz band which Vodafone uses for most of it's 4G.

yeah as far as i know it does
it certainly works on tesco mobile and that piggybacks on o2s network afaik

I was just wondering because when you look at billpay plans some say 4g and others don't. None of the pay as you go sims say 4g so I wasn't sure.

In summary, am I correct in understanding:

* It works with all Irish 3G mobile networks (for calls, texts, internet)

* It is an Android based operating system and is fully compatable with all Android/Google apps

* It works with both Meteor and Three's 4G networks, but is not compatable with Vodafone's 4G network (only Vodafone 3G)

* The battery is built into the phone, so can't be removed / easily replaced. It's charged via a plug in charger, no wireless feature.

* It has USB, Mini SD and Bluetooth

* It can run all the household named software (ranging from Firefox, through to stuff like spreadsheets etc)

* If purchased from the 1+1 online store, comes with guarantee

* It is shipped to the UK (you need Parcel Motel or alternative arrangement)

No sd slot.
If bought from one plus you'll pay no tax or cutoms but if you buy from another seller outside the eu you might do.

I just got mine. Does anyone else think its a lot thinner in person than you would think from the pictures? And now i have to wait until Christmas to use it

Well I thought it was a Christmas present, but either way it's kinda crazy you having to leave it there till then, I mean there's no surprise anyway, you know what it is. I bought herself one of those Lenovo tablets that were on special in Argos last week, but I told her there was no point her leaving it sitting there till Christmas as she already knew what it was. Just put in my order this minute. -Getting all excited now!!

I'm already wondering about keeping it safe from the inevitable droppy-smashy. Cases were all "coming soon" on the oneplus site. I know it makes a sh1te of a lovely neat razor thin phone to put a dirty big black plastic case on it but them's the.... breaks.... literally.

Anyone recommend a case? I had (have) an otterbox on my old S3 and ugly and bulky though it is, it does its job supremely well.

I have the 2 piece tudia one. It's bulky but offers great protection. It's almost a carbon copy of the spigen ones for other phones.

personally I think it will be some accessory items reduced or similar.

a lot of folks are speculating it will be discount on the +1, or the +2 release announcement but I dont think they will do either, as people who paid for the +1 on the last preorder last week are still waiting for their unit. Be a cruel trick to reduce it in price or announce the sequal device before paying customers have received the original at full cost.

perhaps a discount on the headphones (jbl+1's I think they are)

or, hopefully, something completely unexpected.

Parcelmotel about 5 working days, mailboxde up to 2 weeks but about €25 cheaper. General consensus is that express delivery is no quicker.

I had a read up on it, there's only the two versions an International one and a Chinese one. So it should be fine.

Still tempted to be honest as it doesn't require an invite to get it this Black Friday. Will do some more research into shipito

I'd assume the french option would be cheaper, how much would postage cost from France (rural-ish france, near calais)

Happy days just got the email from oneplus that the order is shipped, had put it in Thursday evening. Does that mean shipped from hong kong or London? Can I expect it with parcel motel sooner rather than later?

It ships from their London warehouse (even if it's going to Germany!) & they often send out the email well after its shipped so might already be in Belfast.

Hmmm, not in my case. I ordered it Sunday, got an email monday that it had shipped but it wasn't in Newtownabbey with parcel motel til Thursday and then wasn't actually in my local pm locker til Saturday morning!

Just not to get your hopes up too much! Fabulous piece of kit though. Love it.

Okay so I went ahead and bought it. There is a German mail-forwarding service which is quite reasonably priced. That way I could pay for it in Euro and save a tonne. The Phone + accessories + shipping was cheaper than way than paying in £ for the phone alone.

Can't wait to get my hands on it
