Welcome to the new home of the Irish Metal Archive.

While we have been working hard on this site for well over a year, there is still a great deal of functionality to be rolled out over the coming months. If something doesn’t look quite right, check back in a week or 2, and it should be fixed.

We want you to become involved and to be a part of the archive too. Please feel free to comment and discuss any artist, release, video, gig, etc.. that you would like to – and If you have something to contribute, let us know!

If you were in a band that isn’t listed, we’d like to add you. If you were at a gig and took some photos, we want to share them.

Once the initial tweaks and tidy-up stuff has been done, we have some new functionality coming up, which will be rolled out over the next few months. Specifically, by mid-June, this site will be completely mobile and tablet friendly, and by mid-July, we will be launching the IMA player, which will generate automatic playlists and podcast downloads, so that you can discover new music every day.

But for now, enjoy the site, and the incredible amount of musical talent that Ireland has to offer!

The main focus all along has been on archiving past bands and releases.
You'll see on most of the releases pages that there are music players which are linked to the bands own streaming sites, but most of the older releases from long finished bands are hosted by the site itself.

This new site will eventually feature as many current bands as possible.
But it will all take time!

A few bands from back in the 80s on this album release, including one I played drums in. :D

    Which band?

I haven't moved the compilation albums from the blog over to the new site yet.
But I'll be getting to it as soon as I can. First up will be the 'GREEN METAL' LP.
