Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I definitely believe short man syndrome exists among "the lads lads" type of guy. Often they're grumpy, snide little bastards to compensate for their height and to appear more hard in comparison to the other lads.

I've met short guys who weren't really in that sort of clique and they're pretty normal, with no Jack Russell syndrome there!

I'm just back from a meeting that was chaired by a little, fat arsehole of a man. The type that is nearly taller sitting down than he is standing up. It got me thinking that over the years I've encountered plenty of short men who were complete arseholes. Much more so than tall men (which I'd count myself as being).

This has become known as Napoleon Complex over the years. Does being closer to the ground do something to the personality of small men? Is it over-compensation? Is it jealousy because tall people tend to get paid more?
I had a boss who was short and he was a prick.he had to make up his height with his big mouth

The actual prevalence or otherwise of Short Man Syndrome isn't really the issue, it's the perception of it as being prevalent that is.

It's existence isn't a problem (I don't believe it does), it's peoples willingness to believe it exists that's the problem.

It's like the paranormal. The existence of mediums isn't a problem, peoples willingness to believe them is.

    I'm tiny. I'm 4ft 11 5ft, and I'm a little ball of horror :)

I'm not, I'm pretty even tempered but then small girls aren't accused of having an inferiority complex and explosive temper, only small men. It's more of a problem for a man to be small anyway because of the perception of masculinity as connected with size and the ability to protect etc.

Met a guy in the Chinese takeaway last Thursday night and he was 7ft 7in, Eastern European dude, must be one of the tallest people in Ireland I reckon.

I'm tall (6'4") and fairly easy going, never looking for trouble. The only hassle I've ever gotten has always been from short little wee men.

    I'm 6' 2''. I'm going to furkan kill you.

I do know! (And it's not the ex).
    I'm 5'7.5-5'8.

I've never had a girlfriend or even kissed a girl at nearly 28. I don't think its anything to do with my height, probably just more of being a bit a loser, but I don't think my height is obviously going to help me overcome it any time shortly either.
I really can't understand how your height is viewed as small. It's not tall for a man (it kinda is for a woman) but short...?

Small man syndrome? I agree with Candie. It may exist or it may just be confirmation bias. If a short guy is a dick, it might not be because he's short.

5"10 is the proper height, ready for anything. Many tall people can be w@nk3rs too, ego feeds reaching heights of up to 6ft6 and looking down on others.

Is it possible that the reason why the OP didn't like the short guy is because he was his boss, and angry?

As long as the middle leg is normal size I wouldn't worry too much about the length of the 2 either side of it.

size doesn't matter, it is how you operate it and how long you can maintain erection that counts

I'm 5'7 and a guy, never had any issues with my height. Oddly the only people who ever mention my height are men of about 5'9 or 5'10. No one else gives a **** but I often get asked by guys of that height 'is it tough being short?' And I usually respond that I've had my whole life to get used to the idea so I'm pretty well adjusted to it by now.
I'm married and had my fair share of dalliances in the past with the fairer sex so never found height to be a hindrance in that regard.
I think short man syndrome is not anywhere near as prevelant as people make out and is a bit of a fallacy perpetuated by people who automatically assume a guys a prick because of his height and not because he an out and out prick.

We are all the same height lying down as the saying goes. Except of course the morbidly obese.

I watched a programme on the tele once, average height men packing something the size of a little finger, all joking aside it was causing them a lot of stress in their lives.

GTFO, no room for that kind of sensible talk around here.
