Fella who posts here very infrequently, Carta, has gone through Half in 1.22.45 His PB is about 2.58!

He's an ultra man though and fairly mad so he might just keep it going.

Dibaba puts the hammer down. Let's see how this ends.

Boston is to running, what the Masters is to golf...
Where do they dig up these commentators?

That's nothing, now they're on the Africans dying from snake bites and having no hospitals nearby. Violins would be handy here.

Nice splits from Ger, back on 3:15 pace thru 15k. Blockic and Quirky still together at 1:37 thru halfway.

Paulie on course for a PB thru 25k on 2:56 pace.

Paul is also still motoring through, 25K in 1:44:36, Ger also looking good through 15K

Jeeez, the burst of speed from the men!!

Good solid running all round. Looks like DrQ ad Blockic are going their separate way.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,460 ✭✭✭✭Murph_D

Gonna be tight for Paulie's PB but still on for another sub-3. Rock solid splits from Ger thru 25k still on 3:14 pace.

Was tracking blockic earlier and it took an age to update from 10k, thought he'd pulled up for a second!

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,460 ✭✭✭✭Murph_D

Looks like Paulie's feeling the heat with slowest split yet. Needs to dig in for the 2:59!

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,460 ✭✭✭✭Murph_D

3:01:19 for Paulie. Certainly gave it a good rattle and I wouldn't say he's too disappointed after an injury-interrupted prep, although he's been going well the last couple of months!

Carta, 2.48.05 I don't think he was even doing marathon focused training as he has Badwater on the horizon. What a bloke. Took up this running lark about 6 years ago with no background in it. To give you an idea of his attitude, a few months ago he was asked to do a charity boxing match. Yep, says he. Does it: Wins!! Never put on a boxing glove before.

Blokic finished in 3.38:17. Really slowed over the last 15k. Hopefully it wasn't a recurrence of his injury.

Anyone know how drq and opus finished up?

    Dr Q 3:24
    Blockic 3:38

    Opus 2:53:40
    Ger664 3:18:12

Looks like nearly everyone had a difficult last 10k. Have to take that into account for next year!

Same thing happened the elites in fairness murph.
I am pretty sure it was all down the headwind this year. All the times were way down on last year. They were saying the ladies wheelchair winner was 19 minutes down on last years time!!

Yeah it won't be like Berlin where you were smoking a cigar on the way in......:)

Ah. Didn't see or hear any coverage as I couldn't watch the stream. By the way I don't see Christine Kennedy in the results. Pity.

Maybe you picked a good year to get injured, TbL. :)
