Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Bayern play some nice football until the final third.

Then all they do is lob it into the box. Driving me nuts.

Looking forward to the RTE lads after this discussing david Moyes and Utd.

    From my Twitter feed.

    @Dixie1212
Watching Bayern tonight is quite similar to my marriage. Plenty of graft being put in, but there won't be any penetration!

You know you're crap when you're making Real Madrid look like a rock solid defensive outfit.

The Chelsea defence would be able to knit sweaters while keeping this lot at bay at the same time.

Even Jose would laugh at this... The amount of work put in by these Madrid players tonight, some of them must be wrecked. Fair play to them.
Sometimes football isnt as easy as it looks.

Muller just as bad as Pepe trying to cheat his way to a peanalty

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,591 ✭✭✭brevity

Nothing in that imo. Not a dive or a foul.

    He slipped.

Then got up shouting for a penalty trying to fool the ref.

    Cheating.

"Bayern have to get one back next week" says George Hamilton.

    Well duh.

Not as much control in the second half let Madrid off the hook, though they did pile on the pressure late.

It can't be said that it's a good result for Bayern but there's another leg to go, in Munich, you'd imagine the heat will be turned up.

Madrid should have won by more really, good match, bayern fairly poor in the final third.

Just the 40 crosses from Bayern then

Real should have won by more. 1-0 is a slim win.

    He slipped.

He looked for then ran to the ref trying to say it was a penalty when he knew it wasnt

Great performance by Real Madrid . Ancelotti really is a great champions league manager . He always knows how to set out his team to exploit weaknesses in the team he is facing . I can't wait to see the second leg . I would love to see bale fit for the second leg . He really could be the player that gets real to the final .

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,603 ✭✭✭grumpymunster

That is why I really wanted Chelsea to get Munich in the semi.

So would Munich fans prefer to be in their shoes or Chelsea's. For all the touches they should have lost by 3 or 4

Alonso and Modric gave an exhibition in midfield play there.

Well deserved win for Madrid, they could have had a few more though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,526 ✭✭✭✭Darkglasses

Jesus that's a hell of a suit you've got there Bill.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

"We always call you our 'Spanish specialist' because you watch a lot of Spanish football"

Well it beats the usual, "Well, we don't know too much about them Bill"

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,709 ✭✭✭shrewdness

Real really should have won by more, but it's still a good result. Score one next week and Bayern need three. With Ronaldo and Bale that bit fitter in another week, if they can get the first or even second goal they could kill Bayern on the counter as they push forward, on tonights evidence.

Eamon, talking sense about Bayern, deffo missing things since the old manager. They didn't look good against united or even tonight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,042 ✭✭✭✭NIMAN

Now that was a game of football, unlike last night which Chelsea ruined.

Once again possession stats stand for nothing, and Ribery again makes us wonder why people chatted about him and 50 million in the same sentence.

Eamon: "Ah you're clutching at straws here"
