Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Why the hell would the BBC go to Stormont for this?

Who wants to listen to muppets like Jeffrey Donaldson and Michelle Gildernew waffle about Scotland.

Looking like they will stick with the Union.

How any country can pass up a chance of independence by a peaceful and structured way is byond me. This was an once in a many life time deal.

Disagree. Better off in the Union.

Barring an incredible landslide I said a month ago I couldn't see how a Yes vote would be allowed.

So if the Yes vote takes it by a small margin we could be looking at another vote or recount?

Go look at wikipedia.. 50+ film stars have died for Scotland

Christopher Lambert in Highlander doesn't count.

    (a) He was a frog in real life. English or Irish or whatever the heck Mel Gibson is, is one thing, but a frog FFS ??????

    (b) He cheated and was thus disqualified, coz he died three times.

    (c) He had a really terrible mullet.

short sightedness is a powerful enemy. Better off for now maybe. This vote is not only for the Scots of today but for the future generation of Scots to come. The first few years of independence may have been rocky but in a decade it would be history.

Lets not forget they are still neighbours and good relationships would and will exist between Scotland and the UK, Ireland and Europe.

They have a chance to gain independence with no blood shed and not a life lost.

It boils down to how much they trust themselves to govern their own affairs.

I just don't think a narrow Yes is possible. Check the 1995 Quebec referendum for an example.

    It's not 'incredible'.

With people counting thousands of votes it can easily happen.

I've seen it at counts here several times. It's only ever a tiny amount of votes.

If the result is close there'll be a recount and it'll be rectified.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,028 ✭✭✭gladrags

Sky coverage appears aggressive towards YES interview campaigners..talking about intimidation over the campaign.

Argument well made, short term certainly would lead to turmoil. It's probably a personal thing but I'd have voted No.

    Yes votes in No pile.

Eh.. Bound and counted? So the No bit means nothing!

Someone that knows feck all about counting is trying to make something of nothing..

I would be more worried about the "missing" postal votes in Fife..

I'll feel for the loyal fans of Rangers if a YES comes through :( They wouldn't like that.

Would the Scotch X be removed from the Union Flag?

To clarify, ballot papers have not yet been sorted into Yes/No and are just resting on table where No will go once sorted. No need to worry.

    Look at this. LINK

There are two yes votes on just one table in one count centre in a no pile. How many others are there in those bundles???

I am absolutely riveted by Sky's coverage. Kay just walked across a hall to show us the gloves, just in case nobody understood what gloves were. We saw actual plastic gloves lying on a table.

Sky News giving me flashbacks of FOX news in the US for the 2000 Gore/Bush election.

Let's see if they make an attempt to declare it early. :pac:

Plastic? Why aren't they using latex?

Did she sniff the glove, as an homage to a Spinal Tap album cover?

You see, I wasn't paying attention, she may have to redo that again, just to make sure people like me get it right. ;) I'm tired, and can't think of the right words.

    Incredible stuff.

I'm just amazed some guy didn't pop up shouting "Sky News is ****, watch the BBC! sack Kay Burley!"

... I just like to imagine he follows her everywhere, hiding behind doors and in bushes, even in disguise, just waiting for the cameras to roll. :o
