Would have been a ridiculously harsh pen. Touching the ball with your arm isn't a foul - touching the ball ON PURPOSE is a foul. Clearly ball to hand in this case.

If hands are by the side this makes sense, but his arm was up in the air.

Also this approach isn't unique to Liverpool being fast out of the blocks. Chelsea have played like this in every away game against a half decent team this season. A penny for Abramovich's thoughts?

It really wasn't. It goes up in the air after its hit. It starts in a perfectly natural position.

It's one if those "seen it given" ones, but was clearly not on purpose and would have been very harsh.
