Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Is Demba Ba normally this bad? His first touch and basic ball control don't seem to be of a professional standard.

That's 2 goals he's laid on for them at critical times in a season.

Plus the headed OG in the League Cup final.

Well what with it being completely different, I would say no. The ball was lashed past him and he was turning his back to get a block when it hit his arm that was turning away with his body as opposed to sticking an arm out to stop a ball.

If I remember the Tomkins incident correctly, Tomkins had his arms down yet slightly away from his body and Suarez tried to dink it past him from a yard or two away and it hit his arm. Highly doubt it was intentional from Tomkins yet I would agree with the penalty that was given.
I'll try find a video of Flanagan's "handball".

It's Mourinho magic. We've arguably had the two best chances in that half with the Kalas header and the Ba goal, the defending has been resolute. It's been narrow, it's been tight and it's been perfectly orchestrated. The polar opposite of how Arsenal and Man City were blown away in the first half.

The worry is that the ball hasn't been held up well and under relentless pressure and with the pressure of the occasion you fear that the back 5, which is certainly not the first choice, could panic. However full credit to them, so far so very good.

Tactical masterclass from Mourinho in the first half there.

If it was sam Allardyce who done it people wouldnt be saying it was a masterclass

Usually would be expecting a Liverpool goal or 2 but they haven't done a whole lot in the 1st half to show they'll do it.

Allardyce does that week in week out.

But when he does, hes a negative bad manager that plays 19century football.
I really hope liverpool win 3-1.

No, they would be perplexed asking why the West Ham manager was managing Chelsea.

One key difference Sam doesn't win too many games, Jose on the other hand is a master at winning games like this. He has won many trophy's setting his teams up like that.

Amazed how 'fans' here think it's all over at half time.

Have you never watched football before. Never seen a 1-0 lead turned around before?

Plenty of stories left in this match.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,775 ✭✭✭✭Gbear

There's not a whole lot you can do when a decent team plays that way.

What you need to do is hold the game in your grip, be disciplined and maintain concentration.

At no stage do you want to be chasing the game.

I've been impressed with Ba. He's had a good tussle with Sakho. Thank **** Agger isn't playing.

Still, we've Sturridge to come and a draw suits us just fine so the games far from over.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,593 ✭✭✭kingshankly

Chelsea have been the better side in fairness defended better than liverpool and had the better chances

Nah they won't, it will stay like this or Chelsea will score again on the break.

Pool have had decent chances but fallen to the wrong people, put Sturridge on and there's still a great chance

What are the odds of Gerrard messing up at that exact moment, it couldn't have been timed any better.

If Liverpool do come back in this one there's going to be plenty of red faces in this thread. Far too early to be gloating for those hoping for a Liverpool defeat.

yes, it's working, but Chelsea do not deserve for this gameplan to come off.

they can crowd the middle all they want, no problem, but the time wasting and cynicism from minute 1 is utterly pathetic

I can't say what I think of Mourinho or I'll be banned.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,278 ✭✭✭slingerz

Gerrard is 17/2 to score next. I reckon it's worth a go

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,347 ✭✭✭✭Grayditch

You can't say Chelsea don't deserve the lead. That's the way it works.

If we can grab a goal for a draw, it be great, but they're a rock at the back, sure.

This game isn't over by a long shot still fancy liverpool to win, they will get at Cole more in the second half. Cole is an accident waiting to happen in this game.

That wasn't a dig about the jft96 and you should be ashamed of trying to let on it was. It was about the penalty that was denied earlier.

Allardyce stifles the most attacking side in the league week in week out? Good to know...

This 45 will decide if Liverpool will win the league or not. Need to not lose it at the very least.

How long will we have to wait for Suarez to flick the ball against a defender's hand to win a pen?
The ref was never gonna give the handball against Flanagan in front of the Kop.I'm sure he'd do differently if it was a Chelsea player there.
