    Hi all,

I just got offered a job placement with a company in Sandyford.
My weekly income will be net 300 euro a week. I am currently based in Limerick and I haven't lived in Dublin for over 10 years so am out of the loop.
Will I be able to survive in Dublin on 300 a week? The main concern is affordable accomodation.
The company need to know by Friday if I will accept or not so I'm a little stressed wondering whether I can afford to do it or not.
    What do you think?
    Any tips/advice very welcome.

You can live on 300 a week but its going to be very very tight.
No eating out really, packed lunches and not travelling back to Limerick every week. You would get a room for around 500 a month in Sandyford which leaves you with around 175 a week for bills, food, clothes and socializing. It will be tight.

If you drive you could try living in a cheaper area nearby, maybe get a room for €450 a month.
Seems doable. If it's a placement is it just temporary?

If you were on minimum wage you'd be living on a lot less than €300 per week. Of course it's doable. And I don't think it'll be particularly tight either. You just won't have money for food shopping in Marks and Spencers, shopping sprees or extravagant nights out.

    Sample:

    300/week is 1300/month

    Rent incl bills 550
    Phone 40
    Transport 120
    Groceries 280

    Total: €990

Leftover €310(socialising, bits & pieces, etc)

You could even put away 100 savings per month too if you really wanted to.
