Saint Anne's - Dog Park Issue

    Hey all :)

I am a huge fan of the Dog Park opened in Saint Anne's in Raheny! I think it is a great facility and myself and the pooch are regular visitors.

I'm sure a lot of you would be there from time to time too so I just wanted to ask for advice or get other's opinion on that bloody bench they have in the small dog section?
It's a hazard to dog's getting their legs caught in between the slats.
Every single time I have been there a dog has got it's leg caught. They will go to jump down and theyre left hanging by their leg between the metal! Just today my own dog got her leg caught (again) and my god the screams out of her thankfully she was ok but I was there once when another little dog got caught and I swear the leg was broken.. Have heard of many people having to get to the vet after.
I know some people might say don't let your dog up on the bench then but it's very hard when your dog is a lap dog and you just blink and theyre up!

Has anyone else noticed this? I was thinking to contact whoever is in charge of it to make it known to them so that maybe something can be done? Who would I go to contact about this does anyone know? Would be great if they got rid of it and replaced it with one of the lovely benches like in the large dog section made out of the tree trunks! They're fab :)

Im just concerned bringing my dog now after today as she is constantly up on it. Don't need a huge vet bill on my hands...

    Any opinions on this? :)

Contact the parks dept - maybe they'll put a log bench in instead next time they're cutting trees/one blows down (that's how we've gotten ours in our park)?

I'm not a fan of that dog park at all. There's too many dogs left to run amok while their owners either ignore them or stand smiling oblivious that their dog is actually being an ar$e

Ha ha that's true alright gets to me too ! I especially hate when people stand there smiling when their dog is trying to sexually assault my dog !

The last time I was there there was a couple with a pup or maybe a French bulldog - it was humping all the other dogs my pup included - the owners stood at the far end of the run going 'PPPPSSSHHH!!!' Cesar Milan style and the dog oblivious! Gombeens. My older dog always singles out the bully and gives out to them - especially if they're annoying his baby sister :p The market at the weekend is great though to walk them around for socialisation.

Used to love going to it until ignorant people just leave their big dogs to run amock in the small dogs section. Ended up my dog been trampled on etc.

There is a huge section for big dogs, bloody use it!

Some people are so up their own arse when it comes to their dogs.
