    Ever so slightly, NPWS having too much power. Was talking to NZ farmers lately, they can spray and reseed hills from the air. Try that on SAC land......................................

    Yeah want to flood land to bring the bogs back to life, sure why stop there

    Rewetting bogs is the term and it doesn't lead to flooding of agricultural land.

    SAC's are there to protect the remnants of vital wildlife habitat.

    Let's not turn this into a sac fight fest. The op was just wondering if anyone was gonna be affected by the flooding in the area mentioned

    NPWS representative at the Hill Farming forum in Tuam in 2013 admitted to the crowd that these designations don't work. Barry something or other was his name.

    They don't work for example in situations like the raised bogs SAC's. People are breaking the law and destroying the bogs with industrial turf extraction like in Clonmoylan SAC. The authorities lack the will/courage to stop them.
