Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

converting cubicle shed

looking for possible hints and tips . Have a cubicle shed that has 22 cubicle spaces on each side. Built a 4 bay slatted shed a few years ago with grant. Beef and sheep farm here, usually ewes lamb inn straw bedded shed at end of February and then cows move in to calve late march/april. The cubicle shed not used to full potential a few young uncastrated bulls or something put in out of the way.
I want to take out the cubicles (their old style) and the step and just leave straw bedded. I live in tillage country so straw is not an object.
my father says I shouldn't bother but although only 15suckler cows, il see how the market is in future and might go in for a few more. id like to have the cows calve round same time as sheep lamb when getting up to look at ewes I can look at a cow. thus I want them in this adjoining shed.

anyway just wondering what things I should incorporate in this new layout, im thinking two calving pens, with calving gate dividing them and leaving room for a creep area for calves to pick at meal and lie down plenty of straw.might not get to have them out as quick if there in early march.
