With the UK, US, and Australia governements among those warning users to simply not use Internet Explorer until the latest vulnerability is patched, where does this leave the BoI online service?

Are there actually any plans in motion to provide support on a wider-range of platforms. By insisting on a single eco-system from your clients BoI is needlessly endangering their customers and it's own integrity.

Please tell me that there is a timeline to move away from requiring customers only use Windows and Internet Explorer?

    Hi ectoraige,

    Thanks for your post.

We've had several queries on this today. Bank of Ireland is aware of issues reported in the media in relation to Microsoft Internet Explorer browser and we are in close liaison with our service providers and Microsoft to address. In the interim, access to Business Online is not impacted and full service is available. We will update customers in relation to further developments as we are advised.

    Thanks
    Tara

Banking 365 works perfectly fine on Firefox, Chrome, etc.

So does that mean there is absolutely no timeline to move away from requiring customers only use Windows and Internet Explorer, and any customers wanting to ditch Internet Explorer should look for a different bank?

    Hi ectoraige,

Our Business Online team are continuing to review the site and work on developments. There is no update yet for Business Online being available on alternative browsers, this is being looked into by the Business Online team.

We will be sure to inform our customers through the usual channels when we have an update on this.

    Thanks
    Tara
