On a serious note though, I couldn't agree more with Kersplat!. The reason one would pick a small team, is because one expects a challenge. Personally, if Kersplat was planning to give me 200m - 250m then I'd almost consider changing clubs because, let's be honest, where's the fun in that?

When I took over Cork City in the Copa Del Boards League, I was given a budget of approximately 3.5m. I had to rely on purchasing free agents rated 82 & 83 and then sell them at a profit when their ban is up. Remember that, if you have a poor rated team, not you can buy a free agent at 75% of his face value, but also his face value will undoubtedly increase immediately once you sign him. You could end up making close to a 100% profit in some cases!

All in all though, as a small team, you really can't expect to be challenging immediately after the first transfer window as that would be just ridiculously unrealistic.

Personally, I'd definitely be in favour of keeping it the same as the Copa Del Boards league, with the smaller teams getting less transfer funds. Yes, it's more of a challenge, but is that not the whole point of picking a small team? I don't want the players that the big teams have, nor do I want the massive transfer funds, because I like to be challenged.

As I said before (probably in Mac's 'new league that never was' thread) picking a small team isn't for everyone, and if you do pick one, you should take everything that goes with that decision in terms of poor players, small transfer kitty, smaller stadiums, etc.

In conclusion, there is no point in picking a smaller team in a league of big teams if you have a ridiculously big transfer kitty. It almost completely negates the point of picking a small team in the first place.

Anderlecht arent the smallest team but I've made my pick and will stick with it ... (long as there is no supersmall squad limit :eek:)

Would it not be a far more interesting league if we just picked teams from the bottom 2 divsions in England? Give a 100m budget and it would show who the best manager is.

I'm gonna sound like a smart pr**k here, I don't mean to be, but as I said before, it's €6 to buy a GW. If someone wants an all African league or whatever, they can do that. I decided on an Anyone you want league so I'm gonna go ahead with that
