Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Absolute credit to Atleti tonight, beat us at our own game. When I saw stats at half time that Chelsea were 60:40 possession, I knew we were gone. Just like Chelsea, Atletico love to be in that position.

Fast breaks with massive attacking capabilities are what you need in that situation. Real showed it last night, Atletico tonight. Will be an interesting final.

Chelsea lost the plot in the second half because they were forced to attack. Not comfortable for a team that relies on strong defensive work. Atleti thrived, as Chelsea would have, should situations have been reversed.

All-in-all, I really enjoyed the match (at least until 3-1) and thought it was a good spectacle.

I'll mark my card now. Atletico Madrid will be UCL champions.

    Crazy stuff.

Sadly more than old enough to have seen him play many a time in the flesh so to speak. For me might struggle into top 10 Irish players I suppose but as a person I dislike him totally.

There are many anti Chelsea people on hear but ye are in the ha'penny place compared to Brady ever since he "wrote" a piece in the Sunday Tribune many many moons ago.

Ah I see. Your opinion is distorted as you dislike him. No biggie.

I disagree with ya. I think he was a class player. Best irish player ever.

If you think so work away as I said maybe in top 10 Irish players no more certainly not top 5 as for being worth €60-70 m forget it not even half that.

Really? Given the amount of Champions League winners in that squad plus the millions spent on new recruits, the least Chelsea should be doing is getting this far imo.

yes really, well what about all the other teams in europe who didnt? only 4 can. so it is good. and i as a chelsea fan did not expect it. so happy days. or maybe mourihnio out! should of won the champions league and the epl with **** strikers with about 20 goals between them all season, sack him. you are right. I never understand how folks says Keane and McGrath are the best irish sport people. The second captains wall is a joke with these two on it.

Maybe the wrong thread. Ill have to start one, It'll be a good debate.

Well, considering that he actually said he'd quit if he went 3 or 4 years without winning a trophy, I'll go out on a limb and say he won't need to keep his promise.

How about showing the rest of the article there. The bit below where he says there is no pressure this season as its a transition period. He doesn't say on his first season I'm sure he is talking about X time period, but becasue we can't see the rest of the article I guess we will never know.

Great selective screenshotting (new phrase for me :pac:)

    Don't peddle bullshit

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/10250203/Jose-Mourinho-I-will-quit-Chelsea-if-I-do-not-win-trophies.html
Mourinho said: “I’m not the person to be in a club three or four years without winning a trophy.”
“In this case I wouldn’t need the club to say ‘we’re not happy with you, goodbye’. I’d be the first one to say ‘I gave everything I could but I didn’t succeed, let’s go and try a different thing’.”

Atleti seriously impressed tonight. Definite favorites in the final imo.

There's no way Real could have pulled that off against Mourinho. No way.
    Atleti 1-0.

I just hope people aren't looking for a spectacle of a final. Atletico will park their bus, Real will park theirs. 1-0 match either way.

    Going for Atletico.

No doubt he's still a great manager but it would be a horrible combination. Liverpools greatest nemesis having the most irritable coach at their helm, I dread to think.
