Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Article from the Wicklow News. Though most will not fall for this there is no harm in warning others of what is going on.

    http://www.wicklownews.net/2014/04/home-owners-warned-after-woman-duped/
Home owners are being warned after a woman in Bray was duped out of €180 by a man claiming to be a painter.

The woman said the man had brown hair, moustache, white overalls and had a notebook and was wearing a hearing aid. He was driving a blue van with ladders on the roof .
The culprit called to the woman’s home claiming to be a painter and said he would paint her home for the agreed fee of €180, he told the woman he would need the money up front to get paint and supplies.

He took the money and failed to return.
It is understood the same man was operating in Redford park in Greystones last Thursday morning.
A similar incident took place a number of weeks ago in Wicklow town where two men claimed to carryout gutter cleaning without doing the job.
If anyone has called to your home claiming to do odd jobs call the local Gardai.
A Garda spokesperson told Wicklownews.net “These people are more than likely calling to homes to see if they are vacant, in most incidents where money has been exchanged for work it is an elderly person.”
