2nd fastest Female Marathon runner ever banned

Liliya Shobukhova of Russia has been banned for 2 years from Jan 2013 to Jan 2015. She was caught via the biological passport. All of her results from October 2009 have been annulled. This is includes her 3 wins in Chicago, where in 2011 she went No. 2 on the all time list and her victory in London.

She may have to pay back a lot of cash. She won the World Marathon Majors twice to win $1m and along with time bonuses and appearance fees, it could be best part of $2m.

This is probably the biggest drugs bust on the marathon circuit ever. Not so sure why the news is only breaking now, I wonder was she fighting it behind the scences and finally lost the case? Dissapointing news but sadly, I wouldn't call it surprising.
