Just a quick question,is it possible to transfer media files "AVI" from my Dell hard drive to a WD media player without connecting to a TV.
I do have a HDMI on my laptop can I just use this to transfer these files or what.

PS..It a friends WD media player I am transferring these media files too,I have no access to an HDMI compatible TV.

HDMI is only used to display video/Sound, not transfer files.

Media harddrives are no different than any other external drives, you just use a regular USB cable to transfer files between computer and drive.

Thanks Mate, thats all I wanted to know.
    Cheers !!

A WD media player has no storage unless you are referring to an Elements Play model?

WD media players can play from a USB so you could just copy onto a USB and insert and play.
