Granville or Tower Hotels. Both Carvery and good value.

I don't see anything wrong with the Tower

Carvery is quite nice in there. If that's not what the OP wants, fine, but it's not like there's something wrong with it the way you're suggesting.

Don't know about the Granville one way or another where lunch is concerned, but dinner in there any time I've eaten has been really good - a cut above standard hotel fare. On that basis I would imagine lunch would be good if not excellent.

The OP did ask about lunch within a specific price range.

I agree that Bodega is very good and certainly one of my preferred restaurants for dinner.

For me anyway, lunch is a roast with roast potatoes and veg. Both the above hotels IMO do this very well.

I really don't get how you can go from some one asking for a place for lunch to suggesting a roast carvery in a hotel, it is such a leap it amazes me.

    You must be easily amazed!

I was just stating where I have have had a very good lunch lately within the price range the OP requested.

Im personally not a fan of bodega to be honest, over hyped and over priced but that's just my opinion.

Greenes restaurant is very good for lunch, they have a new chef in there for the past little while and the food is delish :-)

Pity the Olive tree tapas is closed are lunch or I'd definitely recommend there too.

Carvery is food of the devil. Just saying!
Overcooked food left under hot lights to stew away. Go somewhere decent and don't be a cheapskate!!!

What do you want me to say - the last time I went in there I got their burger (which used to be lovely and pretty good value) and the beef in the burger was awful muck, a cheap forzen burger, compared to a proper homemade burger they used to have. And I had an upset tummy later that evening. So, as I said, in my humble opinion, standards there have seriously slipped. Don't remember what my wife had, but she felt the same, and we agreed we'll go elsewhere the next time.
